Timekeeping Updates touted as an ‘easier’ way to capture time worked, really just showing a lack of trust in employee honesty. Everyone has to clock in and out now. This was my reply.

I work for a software company in the support department. Many of us are remote or just not in the main corporate office. Since I started last year, they have been pretty awesome with how we are compensated. The whole culture of the company is pretty awesome overall. Basically, you are required to enter your hours on a time card every pay period. If you work extra, you enter it as more than the standard 8 hours for that day and get paid overtime. If you take PTO (which is unlimited), you enter PTO hours. I am basically non-exempt salary which is great. Welp, yesterday HR casually sent out an email that all this is changing at the beginning of April. Starting then, we'll have to log in to our slow-ass HR website 4x per day to punch in/out for our shifts and lunch breaks. A mandatory training time has…

power drunk

Job Titles! Why do people get power drunk and let tittles get into their heads? They feel like a minigod and don't care to check what comes out their mouths. A manager was on leave for a year and another was put in the position to cover for the one year. The new one is a micromanager.. condescending and annoying overall. They talk to employees like they're doing them a favor or use words like peopleare children *Use words like 1. “You should do the job you're employed to do” 2. You're not listening to me. 3. Good Job Rockstars 4. This is afternoon checking in on Rockstars. I think words like that are belittling and unprofessional. Thoughts?!

would this qualify as a hostile work environment?

I work for a company that offers Emergenct time off, paid time off. But they also have black out periods and days that you can not miss, I have a child that has been sick here and there, I had 10 hours Eto and used it when I landed In The hospital, I always have dr.s notes for time I need to take off, (need to note they do not accept drs notes as an excuse to miss work) but since I have used my eto, they are constantly forcing me to make up time if I miss any, and if I don't make it up, I am being threatened with write ups and being fired. The thing is… if they didn't push so hard about me making up hours missed, I could have resolved my little ones sickness sooner and therefore be more productive, but instead I'm having to…

I’m not going to settle anymore

I've worked in IT with no certs or degrees for about 5 years now. I've always been efficient and am able to pick up new skills fairly quickly, to the point where I am constantly praised for my good work. I've never been favored for better wages or benefits, though. The most recent company I've worked for used to be great. A small business that paid really well, had great benefits, and they didn't care if you took a day as long as you got your shit done. I exhausted all vacation, sick, and personal days working there because literally no one cared if you were gone as long as you had everything taken care of and it didn't force anyone else to do more work. Absolutely a dream to work for, I got a dollar raise after 3 months working there. However, 6 months ago we were bought by…

Real scenario/Remote Job

If you told your manager that you lost a family member and would like to take the rest of the day off during a meeting. And the manager said to you ” Do you bring your whole self to work? And that your problems seats with you at home and thats why you're emotional or react certain way. How would you feel or react or respond there and then and moving forward?

Don’t think my boss should have to clarify he doesn’t hit women.

Hi, (17F) here. (Throwaway account post) So here's the story with my work place- a pizza place closeish to my house. I got the job and started my working interview with a manager, B. Now as I was learning the ropes – taking calls, understanding how to take orders from him, etc, he seemed a little bit odd. B simply just put me on phones and dishes for my interview, watching me as I worked. Everything was generally quiet for the first hour or two, before B started yelling at a driver for not doing what he was allegedly supposed to and just standing around on his phone waiting for a delivery. I was over by the sink at the time and B walks over, still visibly angry that his driver wasn't doing what he was told I assume. He just kept going on and on, and I stayed quiet…
