As post title says. Just curious after seeing so many negative posts about working. I hate it too but we really have no choice in some regards do we? So, those who are at the high ends of the ladder and enjoy r/antiwork, what are you doing to make work good, fair, and well compensated for those you employ? Also, for those of us who may want to be our own boss and start a business, what advice can you give about treating employees, paying them, and still making ends meet? Thanks!
This song fits here perfectly.
I’m really sick of this
I just had to give my coworker a 30 minute break because she broke down crying in the middle of our shift. And by give her a break. I mean force her to go on break because she wanted to keep working. (I didn’t make her clock out bc fuck that.) She’s struggling to make ends meet. Working 45+ hours a week AND she’s a full time student. She barely eats. She’s been with the company a while and they refuse to give her a raise. I’m just sick of this. Most of my coworkers have 2 or 3 jobs at a time and they’re barely making it. I can’t take watching everyone suffer. When I asked a higher up earlier today about yearly raises they said we would get 3% NEXT YEAR. when over 3 years have gone by without one. And most people can’t hold on for that…
I have joined the movement
I have finally joined the great resignation in the United States. I was employed for a large publicly traded physical therapy company making $25/hour with two higher ed degrees in healthcare. I haven't seen a raise or adjustment to my wage in 3 years. I asked numerous times to no avail. I am fortunate enough to not need a plan B for a few months… so I'm going to volunteer in my community and focus on rejuvenating my own mental and physical health. I think my next big project will be developing a not for profit aimed at providing easy access healthcare to vulnerable communities with a commitment aimed at ensuring top-tier pay for all employees (minimizing profit and maximizing functional money)…. the dreams will continue. sorry just had to share solidarity and get it off my chest! fight on, friends.
