HR rep who actually cares !?!?
I’ve been working for a company for almost 4 years. I have documented bi polar depression type two and trauma from a recent sexual assault. I remember when I got assaulted and found out I was pregnant from the assault and had to go into work the next day. I was in shambles, didn’t get any sleep, didn’t know what to do. 8 am rolls around and I said fuck it and went into work clearly depressed and sleep deprived. It was so noticeable people kept asking if I was ok. Finally had enough and wanted to call HR to see if I could use vacation or something to go home and take time off. Im a sensitive east crier. I cry about everything, especially when stressed. Im calling and get connected to the HR rep. And without even holding back I just begin to sob. This lady waits and…
I posted about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/tifu/comments/t7gt4o/tifu_by_losing_my_cool_on_a_karen_in_my_last_day/hzj4m99/ But I'm not sure it really falls under TIFU anymore. I had an abusive customer who was literally screaming at me, and I told her that we didn't want her back if she was going to abuse the employees. Based on that one call, which I self reported, I was pulled off the phones for the rest of the day, and told I would have a meeting on Monday, and would not be returning to work until I had that meeting. Well, now I've had that meeting. Apparently I signed a zero tolerance policy when I started among the many many documents I signed upon starting employment, without which I would not have gotten the job. Because of that and that one phone call, I am now unemployed. They tried to kick the can down the road, this isn't Sutherland's policy, it's CBS/Paramount Plus's…

Micromanaging really “works”
Yes…to push you to find a new job. In fact, with my current job my boss has lost about 4-5 people in the past 6 months, only able to hire 1 (whom has been at this job 4 months and wants to quit) all due to micromanaging. My mind is blown that managers allow their paranoias/anxieties/trust issues to get the better of them, effectively ruining their own department in the process….
Now that many jobs have been proven to be sustainable from home, working from home should become a fundamental right. If you're forced to go into the office, the commute itself should be part of your work day. If it takes you 1 hour to get to work, and 1 hour to get home, then you have 6 hours at the office. Not being paid for a forced commute is WAGE THEFT as it steals extra time out of one's actual day.
