Our life I should be more than work
We only have a short time on this earth. I spend at least 1/3 of it working and close to 1/3 of it sleeping. So I can only enjoy at most 1/3 of it. They say we are part of a modern society. This just seems so … unethical
Timecards with a salary job
I hold a full-time senior position at a global corporation, making over $100k salary, and they require that I fill out a timecard every week. They also include this as part of the way they measure my performance. I'm sure there are legal reasons they do this and I have no place to complain for having such a job, but it is baffling. Any else fallen victim to this moronic decision?
Job doesn’t care about my safety
I'm a low-paid local journalist, and I have to often go to fires, car accidents, etc. I went to a fire recently, set up the camera far back from a gate at a gated community. The property manager briskly walks toward me yelling and cursing to get off the property, so I got the hell out of there regardless of if he was right. I send an email to staff saying what happened, and I drove away. I get a call from my manager asking if I was on the property, to which I explained that I didn't feel safe because of the high-intensity confrontation. They pressured me to go back and film from across the street. I feel so disrespected and helpless that my safety isn't a consideration at this often-dangerous job. This is all coinciding with anxiety that has been getting worse the past few years I've worked…
I’m sick and tired of presenting facts to people only for them just to deny it in favour of their own agenda. I’m fucking done! I have tried and tried to stop the lies that capitalism is feeding these people but they just won’t listen! I’m done, don’t bother, convincing others that they are wage slaves to some rich ass billionaires is not worth it! There is a saying in this world, when somebody believes in something so much they will deny all evidence that proves their point wrong, sort of like religion!
