So my company has a rule that you can’t clock out more than 2 minutes past your schedule time as it is considered time theft. When you attempt to clock out, a notice saying a supervisor needs to punch in their number pops up. Your supervisor can get in trouble for enabling you to work past the two minutes. So if you think you will need more time to finish your task, you have to alert the supervisor so they can change your work time by a few minutes so you can clock out without a supervisor override. So I was working, knew I needed a few extra minutes and alerted my supervisor. She forgot to update my time so the time clock wouldn’t let me clock out. She refused to override because she didn’t want to get in trouble so she had to change my time, wait a few…
what should I do for work
I'm at a loss. I hate corporate greed and being around all the fake people; they just secretly judge you. Supervisors that talk down to you and only care about productivity. So fuck places like Walmart or target and no way I'm doing any fast food ect. I hate being around people. I'm thankful for everyone and what they can do for work but I'm going crazy here. What is a job I can try to get with no experience. No degree. What are some paths I can take to get into something like a career that actually uses my brain. Please give any examples or experience you can. I've been without a job for over a year now and the strangle of society forcing me to get a job and money is going to make me kill myself soon if I can't find something. I want to try things…
Being harassed at my job?
I work at the front desk in an apartment building, a tenant here is harassing me. Harassment includes insulting me, yelling at me for things out of my control, and generally just forcing negative interactions with me by coming to my desk (or calling) and being really rude, until I say something back. Then she writes a letter about me to my boss lol. What can be done?
A test result came back with a chemical I'd never heard of being elevated…I'm not a doctor so I did the next logical thing: googled chemical and was immediately convinced I was going into organ failure. As I frantically thought about all the things I wanted to do, and places I wanted to go and worried that I'd never be able to travel again I was hit with this realization….I've been working 40 hours/week for about 10 years now with the longest stint off being 4 days off at most here or there. The biggest reprieve I had was a 6 month stint where my hours dropped to 30/week…I never felt so alive as during those 6 months. I actually left work ready to do things. I was creative and productive but I had no money. How is it that we devote so much time to work to pay for…
You go to jail for the former if caught, prosecuted and found guilty; You only have to go to court and pay restitution in the latter. In New York, though, the state only intervenes if you make less than $46,800 per year – make a $1 more and its up to the DoL to decide to enforce it, otherwise it's up to _you_ to pursue civil action.
