Forced To Falsify
I work in the cybersecurity field. I recently took a job with a new company who promised full work from home as long as I am able to attend certain in person meetings. In order to expense anything (including providing food at these meetings) I must fill out documentation detailing attendees. Now the same process holds true if I need a new web camera, tech to do demos, branded shirts, etc. They say I must submit mileage for a meeting which never happened and list people I did not have meetings with. I refuse to do this and thus far have just eaten the costs. I was also promised RSU as part of my offer letter and 4 months later have yet to get them. I also recently discovered for two weeks at the end of every quarter vacation is straight up banned. This includes Christmas. The office where I…

Ex-Manager was awful
To start off with, this happened a few years ago. I’m still with the same company, but have a much better manager who’s super supportive, higher pay, work from home etc. I’m also based in Southeast England. Bit of background, I was 20 at the time (now 24), and the manager does this thing where you don’t get paid overtime (1.3hourly rate), but get toil. It means you can have that amount of time to leave/start work late assuming there was enough staff to cover. I had worked 4 hours extra the night before due to staffing issues. I went to take my toil the next day to work a half shift. When I went, I got called out for leaving 4.5 hours before the end of my shift compared to 4 hours. I stated it was because I was also using my 30 minutes unpaid lunch. She started to…
HR is full of shyt
Long, sad story short: I got my dream job but it ended up not being my dream job because they are not letting me work remotely AT ALL. Not even 2 days a week even though my work is done 100% at a computer. So, the job hunt begins again. But I'm wondering, how the hell am I supposed to do virtual interviews when I work in-person in a cubicle with zero privacy? Like just take my phone out on the streets (I work downtown) and sit in a park? That's the best I can do…
Advice: Work Pushing Us into the Office
Hey everyone! Um mobile, yadda yadda?? So I got an email from my boss pushing us off the current hybrid wfh schedule to coming in Tuesday through Thursday. Reading it again now, I don't think my original ~rage~ was warranted, but I still wanna make my stance clear on covid safety and the importance of working from home esp considering rising gas prices. Any kind of encouragement or advice would really be appreciated. I'm only 21 and this is my first corporate job (just a call center). Thanks for the solidarity and advice from the sub previously, I like you guys. Anyway, eat the rich and have a nice day
My job has a high profit yielding shift at a further than normal job site. The first couple times they were offering a bonus which made it worth the drive. However, now I am scheduled there without any bonus offer and gas prices have gone up substantially without an increase in my mileage reimbursement. How should I go about asking for the same terms as last time, I feel like I'm being used, which I probably am.
