Employers Underpaying Wages “In Error”

Just got my payslip and it's a few hundred euro short. This seems to happen every so often with employers… Why is it you never get overpaid by mistake?

Gas price inflation solution

If gas prices are going up due to war and sanctions, we should keep pushing employers to let us stay/go back working from home.

i work at a car wash and every night i pressure wash the car wash tunnel to get all the dirt out of the ground. since i was pressure washing i was looking at the ground and focusing my attention to the ground. i do this every shift, i had my head phones in and i was working fine. my manager decided to start cleaning the equipment that was located directly above me and so she got a ladder and started spraying CLR at the equipment without notifying me that she would be spraying chemicals right above me. i didnt notice she was there since my focus was on the ground. but i started smelling something and i looked up and got CLR mist all in my eyes. i stopped what i was doing and took about 20 minutes rinsing my eyes. right after i stopped rinsing my eyes my…

Company Just Announced Record Profits. Only Gave Us A 2.5% Cost of Living Raise

First, let me say I do believe in being fair, and not just pointing out negatives. My company hires people for a manufacturing job with no experience. All you need is a clean record, five years of general work experience, and to pass a drug test. They start employees out at 19K more than the average per capita income for the city we're in, and 5k more than the average per capita income for the entire state. You move up steps for the next three years, and by year four you hit top, which is about $6 more than starting pay. So the pay isn't terrible, credit where credit is due. That said, the company announced a record profit for last year. Total sales up 36%. This is DESPITE Covid, and DESPITE that September, because of the supply chain issues, our company temporarily laid off 300 employees (again, credit where…

I just wanted to say a genuine thanks to this movement and the new mentality that many people are adopting of anti-work and working for what your worth in addition to no longer accepting bullshit from employers, I can see the difference it's making already how its affecting people's wages positively. Already, the minimum wage offered at my employment has increased by $2, which is significant to a lot of people during this time. Positions that would have went for $18 just a few years ago, are now receiving $27 with additional increases among other areas as finding people who want to work for nothing is becoming increasingly difficult. They're learning they have to actually pay people a living wage, or lose a lot of their profits since people won't work for them, etc. I hope that others are seeing positive changes as well and it'd be interesting to hear…

My boss told me it was illegal to discuss compensation with my fellow coworkers.

We were having a meeting discussing my recent promotion offer and who would be taking over my current role. At the end of the discussion he asked if I have ever talked about my pay with any of my coworkers. I responded with “why are asking?” That is when he dropped the “it is illegal to discuss compensation with fellow coworkers” I almost fell out of my seat with shock. I then proceeded to inform him of the laws put in place to protect employees from punishment or retaliation from employers. I was in absolute disbelief I had to inform the CEO of the company of labor laws. The conversation lasted about ten minutes ending with him stating he wasn’t disagreeing with me but also not agreeing with me. He continued to go on and tell me how unprofessional it is to talk about and the reasons he pays people…
