I work as a recruiter for a software company. (I know r/recruitinghell I am satan) but hear me out. This company is one of the leaders in the industry they are in and they have had a great couple of years and have been tvery profitable. I moved to the company to follow one of my old supervisor. I was working in Employee relations for my prior company and did not want to get back into recruiting but they offered me great Healthcare and a nice increase so I went for it. I started in September and they told us anyone hired before October 1st qualify for a merit increase. I started September 13th so I assumed that I would be getting one. But…… Today my manager told me I wasn't and no one on my team was. They stated that they pushed it through and her boss said that…
Mr brother has been a trucker for 4 years now. He currently works for a company that is making money hand over fist and is denying pay raises since they didn't bring in enough new contracts this past year. Even though they bought out their only competition in the area and acquired all their contracts, but since the contracts are a few years old they're not technically new. Some bullshit for sure. Anyways he came home and found a job trucking water to cali a few days a week that pays nearly 3 times his current pay. While filling out the app online before he even finished filling in his past employment he got a call from the hiring manager and they set up an interview for tomorrow.
Are vents allowed in thsi subreddit? America is able to brainwash poor Americans, and poor immigrants, into believing that the reason for their poverty is that “they didn't work hard enough”. The lower and middle class will be the hardest workers, doing everything in their power to succeed. And when they don't succeed, they will continue to blame themselves, because America depends on submissive civilians to uphold the oppressive structures that capitalism relies on to thrive. It manipulates civilians into complacency while turning them against each other. I hate working because it just reminds me that I'm doomed to be working for a CEO that makes millions or billions, while I struggle to have any will to live. I could be living a happy life inna commune or something. This isn't how people are meant to live naturally. We were never supposed to live like this.
Artificial scarcity
No one made the conscious choice to be born and to which parents or environment. All individuals deserve the basic right of access to water, food and shelter. We have more than enough empty apartments and buildings to house the homeless twice over. If you want something nicer than the default essentials, that's where the motivation to work and put in hours should come from. Work should feel productive, let you feel as if you actually have upwards mobility and MEAN something. Not just something to endure to barely survive a month
