Read about this movement in China, how people will only strive to do the bare minimum and only what is necessary to survive in order to avoid being overwhelmed by work and life stress. This resonates with me, as I don't want to work excessively just to acquire unnecessary things. Sure, they're nice, but the effort doesn't strike me as worth it. What do you think of lying flat?
sad that they think this is “dedication”
Gas is about to be at an all time high. It’s being shown that most “office” jobs are just as productive in WFH scenarios if not more. Urging people to go back to work just shows you care more about commercial real estate and corporations. Now I know trades, food, medical don’t have this option. But if you’re customer service? Sales? Half of tech? Put your money where your mouth is. You could kill half the traffic in places like San Fran and LA.
Taco Casa Experience.
Food and restaurant jobs are the worst. Let me explain. I had my first job when I was 18. I worked at Taco Casa. Many of you don’t know but I have autism and a couple other things. I was so happy to get the job but that changed very fast. First day I was already struggling due to heat and not having water with me at all times. When you are working in a environment with open ovens and cookers it’s going to be hot. I would have been ok if I had easier access to hydration. The manager didn’t put up the fans until I started to lose consciousness for the second time. I was fainting because of dehydration and heat. I have Chronic dehydration. I need water constantly. The only way to drink water on the job was to drop everything and take of your gloves and…
My current work situation is a little odd. I'm a mobile plant operator and I've taken on some questionable employment before but when my current boss took me on it raised a few red flags with me. To start with I wasn't notified of much regarding my employment before I started and only knew I'd be working on mobile plant like front end loaders/ excavators and trucks but had no idea of the pay rate/ employment conditions or even when I was supposed to get paid. Fast forward 4 months and of the 3 other guys I work with 2 of them were put through this odd set up as well. We didn't even have employment contracts when we started and weren't getting overtime/ penalty rates or public holiday rates (wish I'd known before I worked 5 of them in a row when I could have spent the time with…
I work at a hotel and recent got bumped up $1.50/hr and was curious so I looked up my job title in California and they pay the same, some places 50¢ more, some actually 50¢ less. I live in a VERY low cost low population place where what I make is barely livable wage. How tf are employers in Cali allowed to get away with paying people there the same rate when cost of living there is 5-10x more than where in at???
