Was told that there were rumors that our management positions were shifting. So I looked on our site and there they are. They aren't positions that are available yet but you can put that you're interested. I did. The next day management is all kinds of mixed up because they found out that everyone knew there were spots opening up and showed interest. Why were they all mixed up? Because they had already picked people to fill the spots (people already in management). They weren't going to let anyone other than current members of management apply. Also, the survey for deciding if you're qualified for any type of change in position just asks about your previous jobs. So any experience I've had here isn't even considered. All the times I've done higher paying jobs at my shitty pay grade, useless. It's just musical chairs for the ones who kiss the…
Probably getting fired tomorrow morning
Well I have a meeting with my bosses and County Administration tomorrow. I will probably be getting fired. Ugh, if they have already made this decision I wish they would just go ahead and do it.
My resignation letter
Dear XXX, I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign from XXXX, effective immediately. I understand that transitioning a new person to the role of customer service team leader will take some time and will of course be working my notice period. If possible however I would like to reduce the notice period to 2 weeks but if not I completely understand. I'm not happy performing a manager's duties whilst not benefiting from a manager's title or salary. I have previously raised this with XXXXX but was denied my requests. More importantly, I have also noticed that some of my dearest colleagues and friends have been treated unfairly by the business. Specifically XXXX and XXXX, both are incredible employees (but more importantly incredible people) that have proven themselves to be exceptional in their role however are constantly overlooked for potential promotions. Instead the company opt to hire externally, these…
We got a new boss three weeks ago. Our department has been without a manager for two years and it has been a huge struggle so everyone was super excited. My gut instantly told me this guy was off. The first phone meeting he starts referring to coworkers as “grandmas” and “old hens” and “obsolete”. When I tried to shift to less offensive terms (I said it was definitely an issue with the generational differences between the younger generations and older ones) he laughed at how PC I was. He has since made multiple derogatory and super inappropriate comments. He’s super aggressive and won’t let me even get a word in during our “meetings”, and has completely flipped on what he initially said we were going to do (something upper management has been trying to accomplish for two years). Any time I try to talk to him he goes on…
Got to make them work for it.
I’m going to ask if they only want me here for profits.
Uk, so castle makes more sense. It's a small castle to be fair. Just noticed my local castle has reported that they've already fully booked this year for weddings, events, garden parties and other gatherings. They're looking for volunteers to help with this busy period…… But seeing as they're local government run landmark they have to publish meetings and costings, etc. They have accounts estimating potential income. A wedding is £750 just venue. Extras (catering, marquee etc) push that to £1000. “Deducting wages we estimate an income 600 per wedding” So they account for wages, but want volunteers to run the weddings.
