Coworker of mine send an email with his two weeks notice attached. He is young and he does not know that in my country it has to be on paper (kinda backwards I know). My boss could have replaid with a one liner saying he has to send on on paper or simply say the notice does not count or she as the boss had the choice to actually accept it and move on. She even pretended that there was no email but later I found out they talked in a meeting with the other managers about it. Since she decided to not say anything my coworker is bound by contract to work for another month and he had to tell his new job he can only start a month later. Thankfully they accepted. I hate my place. Anyways… I am sending out resumes…
Stopped showing up after two week notice
I put in my two week notice on Thursday, Friday I came in and I was so stressed I felt sick and went home, yesterday I also called out “sick”. I’m not sick I just hate my job and don’t want to be there anymore! I’m about to call out this morning and am wondering if I should just call HR and let them know I’m not coming back or if I should try to go in tomorrow or later in the week (last day is supposed to be Monday the 14th) I have a new job starting soon and my husband has also told me I should just stop going. Any advice?

I just got an email saying that I have not been selected for the next steps. I’m interviewing for and gotten offers from actual companies keep in mind. Ridiculous.
Current gas prices have doubled over the last year in my area. It’s a multifactorial issue and I’m not pointing fingers. The reality is that these increases hurt the working class the most. Whereas a white collar professional might be able to work from home, many lower paid blue collar folks have no option but to commute both ways. This is not only expensive with the gas and mileage on your car but also costs you valuable time at the beginning and end of your day. You also can’t quickly do laundry etc when there is downtime. Life isn’t fair and I get that. But the last couple years seem to have greatly accelerated the gap between blue and white collar workers. These gas prices really hurt those of us who do not have the WFH option. And the idea of buying an electric vehicle has been thrown around as…
