My 15 year old step daughter quit her job and now her manager is bashing her to her friends and former coworkers via snapchat

So, my step daughter worked for a local pizza joint for the last 6 months for $11/hour. She found a new gig and that company asked her to start asap. After going back and forth about whether to give two weeks or not, she decided to quit without a notice due to the fact that the employees were treated so poorly by the manager. She wasn't scheduled to work for almost a week, so there would be plenty of time for her manager to find someone to cover her shifts. When she informed her manager (a 30+ year old woman) she immediately began berating her about how unprofessional she was for not giving notice. Using emojis. Over snapchat. She went to school this morning and a friend who was on a group chat with this manager and coworkers showed her some messages from this manager, referring to her as a…

New boss expected me to come into the office twice before my official start dates to do paperwork and admin tasks

Hey guys. I started my new job on the 8th of February, but prior to my first official day of training, my boss told me to come in to the office on two different occasions: the first time was to fill out paperwork and to have an ID card set up and the second time was to have my work email set up. It took up about two hours of my time total, which I know sounds insignificant, but I do expect to be paid for my time, even if I'm not really “working”. I have to email her my hours for last week as I haven't been on site to log my own hours yet (training was all done from home). Would it be petty of me to include those dates and times in the email as well? EDIT: it should say “date”, not “dates” in the title.

And they wonder why they’re constantly hiring…

I got a voicemail Sunday at 5pm offering to set up an interview for a minimum wage customer service job. I am a recent college graduate so I am looking both in my field and for something to make money until I do find a job in my field. For this particular business I have decades of experience with their products. I called the store back at the opening of the business on Monday. I was told all positions had already been filled, but if I'm still looking in May they'll give me a call. I told them to lose my resume.

employer is not letting me take any more mental health days.

title says it all after some bad turn of events in my life i have been basically going on auto pilot and just going through the motions. i feel that i need some time just to my self turn off the phone and just do something for myself. before all of this i havent used any sick days before and have really only missed 2 days in the last few months. even my psychiatrist is suggesting me taking at least a week off and my boss literally just laughed in my face and told me that he cant give me any more time off even though i had previously had a supposed guaranteed 2 weeks off before but since then had to cancel.

Two months into 2022 without know salary

If you've ever worked in enterprise sales, it's not uncommon to not know your commission structure on the first day of the fiscal year. Yet, here I am about to start Month 3 without knowing my payment structure.

“Recruitment Privileges”

Recruiters who cold-call/email you about job openings but act as it's a privilege they contacted you in the first place are so scummy. “What we expect to be considered…” ermmm…you're the one who contacted me. It's weird.

What should I do

I just finished working a fast food job for over a year for 7.50 only (minimum wage is 7.25 here) & it was very messy place that messed with my mental health so I left and stopped working for some months and just started working for $10 an hour at McDonald’s, my first week I worked 8 days in a row and he gave me my schedule and basically said I get Monday and Tuesday off every week and that’s it, but im a senior who wants to enjoy weekends sometimes with my friends for my last year but I don’t want to quit because I’m trying to save up money to start boxing this summer what should I do?

Has anyone here taken short term disability for burn out?

I’ve been seeing a therapist for 6 months who had told me since January I need time off work. She’s encouraged me to look into my short term disability benefit at work. I can take it however I’m extremely paranoid that my employer will Hold it against me. Has anyone ever done this? How long were you out and what was it like when you returned?

Attempting to make a new holiday, discuss your pay day

Hey y'all, i floated this idea a while back and people seem to have taken a liking to it. I've done some legwork since then but i want to get some more opinions before i finalize stuff. The Holiday is called discuss your pay day, the idea is you can either have an open conversation with your colleagues, pin your hourly to your nametag or in a placard on your desk. Now the day i'm wondering about. some have said May 1st since its national workers rights day(labor day) but i'm not too sure about that, since i know a good number of people have that as a day off and wouldn't be able to participate(Excluding service industries which are the bulk of our community). How are we feeling about may 2nd? Does your job personally take off for labor day? Open to input from all sides
