I work for a multi-billion dollar company. I've recieved 1 raise in the past 4 years that I've been working there, and thanks to inflation I effectively make less than I did when I was hired. My bosses belittle me constantly, reject my PTO requests, and yell at me for “blindsiding” them with a PTO request 2 months in advance. I'm bullied by a coworker that I've reported to HR twice (his boss has also reported him, and his boss's boss has even had problems with him) and he's only ever recieved a “talking to” about it, which has only made it worse. It's a degrading job in a call center where customers call in and just scream at me for just doing my job. There are signs all over the office telling people to stay home if they're sick, but if you call out more than 3 days in…
I used to work in IT. I'm a woman. Enough said. Things that still mess with me to this day. -guys openly grading the few women in the office. I was given an F -we had to check in anytime we walked away from our laptops when working from home during COVID. I typed “brb baby is crying” to which the coworker typed “why don't you just shake him” I told boss it made me uncomfortable. He did nothing. HR did nothing -i had an illness and I was out, with doc note.i explained why I needed more time off for blood tests/outpatient etc. Boss says “maybe you don't need to work here anymore” HR says he simply didn't mean it that way. -i filed a complaint with HR -Boss then yells at me at a team meeting for speaking out of turn. Then pulls me in a virtual meeting…
I'm honestly in awe right now. Thought I'd gotten a new job, as I was offered it, was told to come into work to do prep (they hadn't opened yet and thus was going to work with no contract), was given part of the uniform, told to buy the rest, added as part of staff and when I did my trial, one of the bosses told me he'd love to work with me and to not put my CV elsewhere. I get a call today from one of his associates to not come into work anymore, that they're trialling a new person but “we still may need you” yet I'm to come Tuesday to pick up “my pay”. I was just today happy because I got a message saying I was legally employed, just had to sign the contract. I asked if I did something wrong, told “we just need…
My workplace has been understaffed for a long time. I went from having three other people in my department to working all by myself because they can't find anybody else who wants to work the job. I had a sit down with a manager because a coworker complained after I repeatedly told him not leave skids and cardboard in the warehouse and to take them where they belong. I straight up asked the manager what their plan was if I quit and was simply told life would go on and they would ask some employment agency to send them some help. Next time I have sit down with that same manager I complain about not having any help and get scolded with “Do You Know How Many People We've Interviewed?” Is this not a massive contradiction? They claim they can replace me but at the same time can't get me…
Whole time this fucking clown works from home smh what a hypocrite Edit: I’m being facetious; this is a joke.
I work in a small corporate office in the Bay Area of California. From my cubical I can easily hear conversation happening in the kitchen where people often take their lunch breaks. I could hear the CEO and CFO talk about their new planes and how they were “sitting in my hot tub this weekend”. I cried while filling up my gas tank this morning because I’m worried about not being able to feed myself or my husband. I hate this world.
Surprise Pikachu face when staff get head hunted and leave.
Just my take, my time isn’t worth 30min to 1 hour commutes and paying for gas and getting ready every morning if you’re not even gonna pay me enough to live off of it. Good luck to all these employers thinking everyone’s just eager to go back and have to dress in suits or whatever shit instead of at home, being comfortable, in their pajamas, getting the same job done if not more productively
