The last temp they brought in was covered in prison tattoos and was addicted to meth…thats not a guess either. He ended up finally getting fired after he had an “episode” in the bathroom where the ambulance needed to be called. Now we have this new guy who stared at the sink for 10 whole minutes before he poked me and grunted, literally grunted. Before you ask, yes he speaks English. This man is also in his 50's. I asked him what he needed and he just said “water.” To be honest I was so confused at first, but he honestly had no idea how it worked. It was just a basic faucet, nothing fancy. Now maybe you're reading this and think I'm being harsh, but I work in a factory. In this factory we have fire and chemicals and dangerous machines. I have to take these meth addicts now…
Took a new job based on amazing Glassdoor reviews, stories in local media, testimonials from ex-employees on LinkedIn, etc., by all accounts a very pro-employee outfit, Top 10 place to work in the metro area. Best health insurance I've ever had in my life, reasonable (mid-range for position) salary offer, they provided infinite scheduling flexibility to assist with my cross-country move….. After I accept the offer but before I start the company is sold to a venture capital firm. It took them less than a year to end very pro-employee policy on the books. Long tenured employees are fleeing in droves and customers are noticing. Kicker for me personally was getting a half-inflation raise after a banner year (exceeds expectations review, multiple peer awards, saved two at risk accounts), then it was spun as I should be grateful for that because most people got less (true from what I've heard),…
*Repost cause apparently this is alt right talking points or whatever. Get vaccinated. Don't be a dope. I got vaccinated to protect myself not because my job require me too Except I am and have been for nearly a year. My work made me upload a pic of my vax card or charge me a surge charge. I uploaded them, got confirmation that they were accepted, and got the $32.96 taken pre tax anyway. This is about 2.5 hours of every pay period that was/will robbed from me. 2.5 of cleaning literal human shit for free. After my building co-worker quit, effectively doubling my work load. I don't even get a full 40 hrs. Called HR number and they're giving me the run around. Now I have to talk to my IRL mangers to get HR fix it.
Corporate has been really hounding my salon lately about vital care, and today was the last straw. We are doing everything we can, but it's apparently not good enough- there are literally only three of us (2 groomers and me, the bather) doing around 20-25 dogs a day on top of countless responsibilities since we are understaffed and a receptionist is just too outlandish. Starting tomorrow, we will now be written up for every customer not spoken to about VC and grooming perks, and we were made to sign a paper today saying Grooming Perks “IS NOT OPTIONAL”…. They literally want us to force customers to install their garbage app and tell them it is not optional. I am quitting the SECOND I get another job lined up. Fuck you petco.
How do you miss the point this hard
Hello, I’m an Italian high school student and I wanted to talk about what’s happening here. Basically, in 2015 a bullshit law was emanated that to graduate from high school kids have to complete a certain amount of hours of unpaid work, in some schools the students can pick where and in others the school will choose. The intention was to teach proper work ethic and to allow us to learn some skills, but in reality we ended up getting exploited by private companies and learning absolutely nothing. I was lucky and had a good experience (volunteer work) but my classmates ended up spending 90 hours printing files or flipping burgers. But guess what? This month two students DIED on the job, and dozens have been injured these last years. They died because they were forced to work in unsafe conditions, for goddamn free. They were 16 and 18, working…
I need some opinions here. Had a couple virtual interviews today and the last one, the primary guy asking the questions started to cut in and out of the meeting. I mentioned this and it got better then it got really bad and I couldn't hear him at all toward the end of the call so it became kind of awkward. Do I blame him and possibly just ghost on the rest of the interview process? Or is it not his fault, just an internet glitch I should ignore?
UnExcused absence/tardy at work
Hello! I’m new here and to Reddit in general. A friend recommended I post here for some help. I work in a call center taking health insurance phone calls. I have an important doctor appointment coming up in 4 weeks. I am currently in training again because I’m being moved to a new department. On the date of the appointment I will be out of training and in nesting taking calls. I reached out to my supervisor today to let her know about the tardy and what do I need to do in order to have it excused. I told her I would have the doctors note and be calling our attendance line in accordance with our attendance policy. She let me know that the tardy will not be excused even with a doctors note. What should I do, where do I go from here? I’ve looked at our attendance…
