I feel like there must be a huge marketing push right now, because practically every other ad I get is for amazon. What's more is there seem to be multiple campaigns active I'm used to seeing corporations have long running ad campaigns, usually focused on a specific idea or theme. However now I'm seeing like four different campaigns ranging from “these are our noble proud workers, we're a family” to “lol random humor, we're a corporation who makes jokes” to “yay feminism, also buy stuff on amazon” Just imagine what this is costing.
How do I respond.
One of my many bosses had the work phone and called me. I couldn't answer and so four hours later I texted. 'Hey, why did you call me. I am not in a good place to call' Then another different boss responded with idk. And then she said I was inappropriate with how I texted her. What do I respond with! She said we'll talk about this later. I am nervous and I dont like confertation.
I am a late 20 year old male. Who just got harassed for the second time. This just happened today so my brain is a bit frazzeled. To put it bluntly it wasn't molesting or anything extreme but it was unwanted. And older male kept touching my shoulder and back several times to either get my attention or when he wanted a fist bump. Each time I would try to ease away or laugh it off. At first I thought he was just socially awkward but he just kept doing it. Then after the morning meeting a week ago, I was half awake and was walking out the door to my truck only for him to touch my back near my neck which made me jump and yell at him out of surprise. Everyone started to laugh but me. Which embarrassed the fuck out of me. Turns out the manager…
For information purposes: I work in Switzerland, not a high class job, but decent pay. Health care and benefits and everything is obviously included in law, but that's not what I wanna brag out or talk about here, enough people have already described how amazing and better run the systems are compared to the US. What i just DON'T understand though, why is it that, from a psychological point of view, all the bosses, work policies and much more seem sooooo toxic in the US? It seems like every worker is exploited there, like every employee could sue their employer any day, like everywhere minimum wage is barely paid, like bosses will fire you for missing a single day, for talking about salary with others. How come that there is such a big difference in highly developped countries like the USA and most European countries, regarding the views and the…
I was going to work for this company that does all sorts of business, from studio recording to motor works. During the interview process, I felt off about working for them in the first place, but decided that I really needed a job and I'd just take their job while continuing to search for another. Well, I got an offer from another company today that is entirely remote for the same pay. I let the original company know today that I would not be working with them and explained the conditions of the new job, just to give them a chance to offer more money if they wanted. They responded by sending a calendar invite to schedule my HR Orientation. So I sent the same email again, notifying them that I would not be taking the position. They responded and said that letting them know a day before my start…
Finally put in my 2 weeks
I was finally able to put in my 2 weeks at the job I am at now. This place has been killing me. When get home from work all I have the energy to do is lay on the couch or in my bed and sleep. I was able to negotiate a 15% raise to go back to the job I was at before and during the majority of the pandemic, loved the people there but corporate had only offered a .30¢/hr raise after all the extra work during the pandemic.
How to approach leaving my job
I work for a tech company who contracts for (fake name) Boogle. I was in the warehouse and in Dec 2019 got my girlfriend a job in the office. She was able to work from home from March 2020 to now. At the end of 2021, I also joined this role and begun working from home. Boogle's RTO kept getting pushed back and I'll admit there was hope that we would just not return. Our director is (a complete piece of shit) very paranoid about working from home as some people in this role took major advantage of it in the past. He has been clear that his desire is for everyone to return to office. In 2 years, this team has proven constantly that working from home is doable. We were told at the least we would have a hybrid schedule with one day at home, but now we…
Hello everyone, I come to you with a special request. I am currently making a RPG centered about logistics workers, in companies like Amazon. It all started when a friend of mine gave me a challenge: make a fun, short RPG experience about one of the least funny context conceivable. Of course, I immediately thought about the working conditions in Amazon and other firms of the sort. Now, I never worked for the private sector myself and never will, since I’ll end up a public servant at the end of my studies. I follow this sub for a few months now, it already gave me quite a few ideas, but you know like me there is no such thing as enough inspiration material. What I would like: anecdotes, stories, about your working experience or the one of your relatives. Maybe describe your job if you’re in a logistics company like…
So I got hired by a customer service company, It was all really great at the beginning, a healthy workplace and a nice enough wage to get by. 3 months in, the place is a mess, most of the workers are badly trained, and since I'm the only one doing things toroughly and with dedication, the bosses end up throwing all work my way, because I handle it all better. I have been silent about it, but they keep giving me more and more responsibilities, expecting more of me everyday, but when my dad gets sick and I have the doctor recommending us all to isolate, I gave my boss the legal doctor's note, and he took a while to respond to me with “No, because it would set a precedent with other workers, and we want all of you strictly working on the office” I've been doing my work…
