So I posted about my former GM getting fired/quit about month & a half ago. New GM I feel for. She’s trying to play by corporate rules. I’ve been here long enough to realize the end result is the same as my previous GM. They’ve discussed fixing our roof. But I know they’ll only fix it if she gets labor under control. How do I tell her that’s not going to happen. They want labor at 20% or lower. Even with 2 people labor is usually 30%. We can’t have just 1 person due to safety reasons. It amuses me we switched people with another store because we were told “he’s really good, he’s been doing it awhile.” Because of his mess ups we were very low on bread. He’s supposed to cheese bread & he does that all wrong. Every Friday I put truck away. Last Friday was a…
Stagnant workplace advice.
Hi all, At my current employer, Im(28M) second in line in respects to seniority over a department. I was hired 2.5 years ago and can say that I brought a substantial about of skills and relatable career experience that can and could’ve changed this department for the better in a major way. As respectful as I can say it the individual who leads in seniority within this department, doesn’t have any outside experience in relation to the job and lacks very important leadership skills that are a necessity in employee engagement and development. He’s friends with the owner in which he was hired when he was 16( 33 now). So this has been his only career. Not that it really matters but the lack of no real experience has affected him as I can tell. Multiple managers/employees have complained about him and we’ve lost 5 employees in our department who…
Seriously. Is management's job just to yell at people to look like they're working? Or do I have it all wrong. Please, share your side.
LPT: Don't stay in a toxic environment hoping you'll gain some sort of respect with people. To them, you are simply under their thumb and expendable. I worked in a start-up in late 2020 related to the degree I had gotten in college, biochemistry. My supervisor was an alumni at my college, so I thought we could get along, but it turned out she was a borderline sociopath who would throw adult temper tantrums when things weren't done exactly her way, even if higher ups told me to do something otherwise. I hoped to gain some sort of respect, in the hopes of getting a reference, but it ended in disaster with her verbally abusing me in front of co-workers, that I had “molested” the company, and told me to get out. Not allowing myself to be treated like shit so much, I lashed out on her and told her…
New fad request request.
Can we please popularize the Question: WHAT DO BILLIONAIRE-OLIGARCHS DO WHILE WE'RE ALL AT WORK????
work paying me in cash?
Just curious if anyone knows anything about this. But basically cashed my check from work & it bounced due to 'Not Sufficient Funds'. Texted someone from HR & said they'd pay me in cash. I find this kind of odd and a little off, I am just curious if this means anything? Is some shady shit going on at work?
