Why aim for a stress free environment when you can simply justify, and desensitize your employees against stress

Things are blowing up at work & I love it

A couple of months ago the Store Manager was asked to cover for the Area Manager. She brought in a new Assistant Store Manager to cover for her instead of getting an existing ASM to cover. A couple of weeks ago he escalated a situation with a drunk customer and punched him. Twice. Knocking him out for a several minutes. This manager was meant to be upskilling someone to manage the shop floor (managing the customer queue, how to use the app to do it etc). The upskilling consisted of telling her the, in his opinion, faults that each staff member has. He is still working and has seen no immediate consequences (suspension, forced leave, etc) Another new ASM that came in a month ago made a super racist comment last week about one of the staff, who's from India, to her face. At least half a dozen people have…

Got a new job at ~60% the industry standard, was trained for 2 weeks on how to do busywork, did 2 months of busywork, then got fired for only knowing how to do busywork.

Graduated back in May; had no prior experience in my field of study, largely due to Covid. Not wanting to make a fuss, I kept my head down and did the work, always asking if they had anything new they wanted to teach me to no avail. My two supervisors, as it turns out, were spread too thin to actually train…

Should I give two weeks notice?

Alright, here’s the situation: I’ve been working an entry level position for the last 1.5 years. Honestly, it’s been an absolute hell of stress and anxiety due to pressure. My colleague quit one year ago and I ended up taking on her job as well as an open position that never ended up getting filled because why pay for another employee when I’m doing the job of three for the price of one. Anyway, a year ago I told my boss that this wasn’t working for me. In a bid to keep me, I was offered a slight salary increased of $3,000 per year. It worked and I’ve stayed. It’s been a year of me offering creative solutions for how to fix the lack of organization and leadership at this company. Nothing has stuck and I feel like I continuously complain about my job to friends and family. I put…

Upon joining a new place of employment, comments about how the job was a better choice than dealing drugs, or eating ramen and living out of one’s car, could signal disturbing levels of desperation.
