So, I really can’t afford to be using Instacart, but I do because I have anxiety attacks in grocery stores. When I use it, I make sure to put an extra $20 on top of my $20 tip. Usually I have around 20 items on my list. I’m broke af but it’s important to me not to exploit people. Anyway, I don’t think Instacart folks get paid enough even if they are tipped 20%, because they have drive time & sometimes have to shop in a massive store that takes forever. Thank you so much Instacart shoppers! You’ve helped me panic less. Lol.
Asking for 40K a year. I know Sundays probably a bad day to send the email but idk if I want to wait until Monday. It is a fairly large family owned local retailer in the North East US with an eCommerce department of 3 people. I essentially handle everything design/marketing related: emails, social, website, etc. & much more such as building the products on site. One of our competitors is Dick’s Sporting Goods. It is completely doable remotely & the only thing that entails me to come in is customer service which I believe simply puts too much within my job description & is not worth my current salary (31K). I did make a post about this before but have “woosied out” of sending it since. I did take some advice & looked up what ppl in my area with similar job descriptions on salary.com make, & it’s well…
My sister works for a small coffee shop in a small town. I grew up in this town and there are not many employment opportunities there. She has been making $11 or $12 per hour depending on if she’s baking that day, which is shady in its own right. But the manager has left and my sister found out she was making $15 per hour. My sister was offered the manager position, but they said they would only pay $12 per hour because the other girl had more experience. She told them she wanted $14 and they said they would get back to her. Well now it’s been several weeks and they haven’t gotten back to her. In the meantime she’s been picking up the slack because there’s no manager. They are purposely keeping her in limbo so they can have her do the manager’s job and not pay her…
Beware of Bath R us
My mother who is disabled hired this company to replace her bathtub and get a contractor to replace some drywall. They were contacted in october and no contractors showed up at all its now the end of feb 20 something and she has gone through two of their employees that either got fired or most likely quit because the next guy who answers her is the owner chad Howman belittleing and trying to fuck over my mom and making sure she knew he enjoyed it that high of LLC bulshit contract while admiting to breaking a verbal contract she had with the first and seccond employee(I recorded that). He admited that he would leave my mothers bathroom destroyed looking with exposed pipes plaster inner wall showing and sounded so smug like wtf shes a single mother who is disabled trying to get a disability friendly shower. She was forced to…
I’ve been a stripper for about 9 years. I have debilitating chronic illness which is a lot of why I do this job- because I have been fired for being “unreliable” because I am sick when I used to work normie jobs. I swear the shit that people think would be the hard parts of this job really are not usually an issue. The issues I’ve personally experienced 90% of the time is the complete refusal of club managers/owners to treat me and my fellow dancers with basic human decency or follow the law when it comes to dealing with us. We are independent contractors, so we do not get most of the protections employees do when it comes to work conduct or even things like unemployment even though we pay taxes and rely on the club for work. This has reached a new level of fuckery for me as…
I'm curious how that would go. “Hi, my name is Jane, here are my qualifications. I cost $27/hr and 3 weeks PTO. “
