So this is happing now as I type, so excuse the Grammer and runoff sentences. I am doing this on my phone. Long story short I took last week off by calling in 2 days and taking 3 days vacation. In the employee handbook I have a 24 hour notice to schedule vacation and no notice to call in sick. For reference I have 160 hours of vacation and 40 hours of sick time in a year. Anyway I heard he was telling everyone in my department except for me in a meeting to not take as much time off as me. So I thought if he wanted to play petty I would as well. I just asked for Wednesday thru Friday off and my direct supervisor who works under him approved it. Tomorrow morning I have a meeting with him and my direct supervisor who just approved it about…
I inherited an absolute nightmare at my current job as a shipping coordinator. No one knows what they are doing (including me) everything is late/back ordered and there is no set process to get anything done. I am confident I can do the job if given a fighting chance… but do I want to? I have enough money saved, I can restart my job search… but I'm not naive enough to assume there is any green grass anywhere. I just want the people I'm working with to put forth some effort. The same process I have been instructed to follow since I started is now no longer the process (as of today). The person who would normally check up on the production side of things is now expecting me to oversee those follows ups. I honestly just don't care enough anymore. I always try to do a good job, so…
I am always being asked to complete skills assessments for indeed. Why can't employees ask potential employers to answer questions about their “culture” ? Post your questions here. A new employee 's mother has died, and does not have the money to fly home for the weekend. Do you? A. Let them have time off. B. Offer to pay them 16 hours PTO. C. Pay for their plane ticket, and give them PTO. D. Terminate them when they get back for not showing up to a scheduled shift.
I'm finally leaving my company in about 2 months. It's all mutual, but they'll never truly know the hatred I have for them and the toxic environment they've created that causes me so much mental distress. Only worked at the company for 2 years, but that was more than enough. To make it the cherry on top of the cake, the boss/owner is wanting to bring in my replacement for me to start training (again, this is mutual and I offered to help with training) at literally the busiest time we have every month. This busy time of the month is our payment process where we process all invoices for jobs and then cut the checks. This busy time has occurred basically the same time every month for FOREVER. According to my office manager it's a standard in the construction business; so why my boss never remembers it or cares…
Take a leap
I quit my job 1/4/22 after about 7 years as a cop in one of the most fucked up cities in the country so imagine the bullshit I had to deal with. I quit after coming back from an injury to move to My dream state of FL. I do not have a job currently but I am so in love with where Iam at that I am willing to take A huge pay cut just to make it work here. I saved more than enough to go with little to no fear barring utter financial ruin caused by refusing to ever to take a job. Anyway if you have a place you would rather be ,calculate how much you need to feel safe to leap with, create a plan of action and bounce. Don’t look back. I can say even if they doubled my salary plus overtime I wouldn’t…
