Pay starts at $12 an hour
Canada vs America
I’m wondering if someone can help lead me to comprehensive comparisons of things between the US and Canada. Things like average tax brackets and how it’s reflected in government spending, basic necessities covered like education or healthcare, how we might differ in our application of workers rights like paid time off or minimum wage or anything like that? Not sure if there is a good set of authors or places to go dedicated to basically shitting on the US in this way
Make up a job posting or job description and make it as bad as possible. People here need to have fun sometimes so make it fun for yourself. No rules other than r/antiwork rules.
I have approximately 6 hours on average to spare in my daily work/life routine. When I subtract all my work hours, commutes to and from places, chores like feeding and bathing myself, appointments, and sleep, I find I’ve got approximately 6 hours to do whatever I want to do. Unless some event or holiday intervenes, (and more often they take away time rather than award more of it), these 6 hours are not even that pleasant. Thanks to our economy’s grind mentality, it’s hard to relax without stressing about all the things that need to get done, this is especially taxing when you’ve only got 6 hours to do all those things you’ve been putting off until you’ve got the spare time to do them. More often than not, I get to my moments reprieve and lay down. I need to nap, just to make it through the day and…
Low pay and heavy restrictions
Just getging some money daily just to meet basic needs but the amount of restrictions that I follow is big..the floor manager is simply trying to make everything worse by being a lap dog to corporates that wants some profit from blodd and sweat of young men and owmen…I heard this psycho floor girl quarelling with a girl worker who took 2 days leave and she was actually being like a cold blooded person..like I know I will be in that position in the coming weeks.its so stressful that this shit companies use men and women and try to hurt their self dignity for choosing to leave their company..no matter how hard they worked for them with low payscale for months and this type of rudeness may bring some money to the company but I always wonder why this shity companies are always focused on profits and why they are…
This is related to a previous post if mine. Apparently, inspired by their breathren in Canada, a bunch of USA truckers plan to jam up the Beltway in DC. Why? Do they have legit gripes about restrictive Covid vaccine rules that are hurting their income? Or is it just a bunch angry white guys wanting to vent whatever vague gripes they may have? And are many part of the Teamsters Union (or any other truckers union) ? And are they in support of the Republican party who wants unions dead? And in opposition to the Democratic party who have done the most to support their unions and livelihood?

House spousing with pride
TL;DR: got any witty comebacks for people who look down on house spouses/“stay at home” parents? Background: “elder” millennial, living in the US. Accelerated student (graduated with BA&BS at 20), fueled on anxiety and hyperfocus. Been married decade+, have worked decade+ too, frequently with multiple jobs and/or long hours. The past couple of years we’ve been discussing wanting to foster/adopt as we’ve slooowly been stabilizing finances and working to improve mental health. We still have a ways to go, but our goal is for me to transition to house spouse in 3-4 years. The short window of COVID stay-at-home-for-real gave me a taste for the satisfaction real focus on “managing the home” when I can do it /well/ and not exhausted mentally gives me. Not just cleaning/tidying but tackling the maintenance, getting a tiny garden going, finding ways to make our lives more self sufficient and doing what we can…
About at the end of my rope
I was making ok money up till my side job got messed up by the pandemic. I've been jobhunting for something that doesn't pay peanuts since November. I went to a debt consolidation/renegotiation non-profit that basically helps you manage your debts at cost and turns it all into a single monthly bill. They went over the numbers with me and my monthly expenses amount to $3k and my income is $2k. I only get to see my daughter on my weekend, but I can't sustain things at this rate. I wish I had a better plan than to keep trying for new jobs with increasing desperation.
