If you don’t make at least minimum wage with tips, your employer is obligated to make up the difference. You can see this law under FLSA. (USA servers))
and it’s a fucking 200 question personality test. These companies are insane. Who in their right mind is willing to pay someone $125k/year but won’t take 10 minutes to call them on the phone and have a quick chat to see what kind of person they are? Pure lunacy. The email has some BS about how they take a “holistic approach” to hiring. Holistic, as in looking at data from 200 random questions and making an assessment of someone’s abilities and personality? Get the fuck out of here.
Just gonna leave this right here…
Following the great resignation — rents are up, groceries are up, gas is up, utilities are up. I used to think there was actually some mathematical reason for this, but pretty sure the ruling class put their tinfoil hats together and decided to jack up all living costs to get warm bodies back in the slave-wage jobs at all the shitty corporations they control. This was a technical interview and I nailed all their questions The manager of the team to which he came out and said he liked me and needed me like yesterday So HR came back to me with new paperwork for the Position and told me the pay will remain the same as it's a lateral move. I said “No…
I “walked out” of a job interview today.
Today I had a video interview scheduled with a large private bank in Boston. The interview was to be split into two parts: the first interview was supposed to be at 10:30 with 2 people, and the second interview was supposed to be at 11:00 with 2 other people. For context, in preparation for this interview I: Had my suit dry cleaned (it was due). Cleaned and ironed my dress shirt. Shaved (which I don't like to do that often). Set up my camera, lights, and audio rather than use my laptop's built-in. (I do some videography on the side so I have camera and audio equipment, and setting it all up is kind of a pain but I wanted to have high quality audio and video). Researched the company and basically memorized the job description. Prepared answers to all the usual job interview questions. Prepared my questions for them,…
