Felt good to say that.
I talked about job hopping with my dad who’s upper management in corporate and he basically said that job hoppers are not hired cause companies hire people who stay at other companies for longer periods of time
This is a story from a field-trip i had when was in highschool together with my class, around 30 students in total and the story took place on a train. I'm from scandinavia and i just remembered this yesterday, and how it shook me to my bones when i first experienced it. Anyways we we're on what supposed to be around 1 hours train ride. These trains are made for commutes and the train was full. A ticket is around 10 – 11 dollars in our currency. The train took an about 10 minutes extra at a stop and people started to get stressed and mostly thinking that something was wrong with the train until suddenly the consuctor announced in the trains speaker-system. Perspective please
I’m a long time fan of this sub but this is my first post. I may have a decision coming of whether to accept a new job and I’m hoping for some perspective on both bennies and retirement. My income takes care of the basics plus helping kid in college and a little travel. But I really can’t complain, because the teaching is only 32 weeks per year. That’s right, I have 20 weeks off per year from the teaching gig. And although I maintain an office I can WFH for my business. It’s a sweet setup and…
Posting for my mom. She's been working at the same place for 10 years, and part of the job description is “lifting up to 20 lbs”. Recently tho, she's been expected to regularly lift 40+ lbs. She's 64 and has trouble lifting that. None of her coworkers are expected to lift the 40+ lbs. Her employer hasn't asked her to agree to a change of job description, but is now asking her to get medical accomodations to be exempt from the new tasks. She can't afford the medical bills to go thru the process to get a drs note. What next?
