If they will stiff you in the application process, they will do it for your entire employment. Not my story: I met a woman who applied for an events planning job. She interviewed for the job and they said, We want you to plan and execute an event for us as a test, so we can see how well you do. You want me to put on an actual event? she asked. Yes, they said. It’s a job fair. We want you to plan the event and the promotion for it, register people to attend the job fair, organize them into timeslots, schedule interview rooms for them, arrange refreshments, handle the crowd control and make it a fun and successful event. Our recruiters will interview the candidates. You will handle everything else including budgeting, marketing and logistics and of course you will work the event. This is all without compensation,…
‘I literally just quit my job at Domino’s two days ago. The boss (Lolly Jones owns the Sherwood and Lake Oswego store in OR) stole our sick time and gave my hours away when I started whistleblowing. This lady wouldn’t even get us cups for water so we could stay hydrated on our shift and took away our employee discounts. The best part is she’s on the national commercial for Domino’s so you all can see what a money hungry asshole looks like!’ We all contacted BOLI (5 different complaints) and received no response besides 1 email regarding statute to a complaint. So we decided to hand her a letter of demand and she ‘met’ them, but also had one of the managers telling everyone that people would be voluntarily quitting if they walked out with us. I believe my friend filed a grievance with the NLRB for that one.…
Hi guys, trying to search for advice and I know the labor board is who I eventually go to but not seeing what I’m looking for with my case here. I’ll try to provide as many pertinent details as possible to set the scene. My friend works at a rental company in Northeastern Indiana as a leasing agent. They’re scum of the earth, I worked there for 9 months in the same position as him (leasing) and took a pay cut to move to something better. They have extremely high turnover and low Indeed reviews because their M.O. is to blame the employees when things aren’t perfect, threaten their jobs, and eventually either drive them to quit or have them fired. Good employees, too, doesn’t matter to them. They just don’t know what it means to take accountability for anything, so they currently have 4 leasing agents for 2,000 properties…

I'm currently a lifeguard that's the only one on shift when I'm here. My boss scheduled me 12:00pm- 8:30 pm and told me this on Saturday evening. I immediately told him this conflicted with my Valentine's Day plans and that i need to leave at 6 because I already bought non refundable tickets somewhere. At work right now he told me that he can't find a replacement and I might need to stay. What would happen if I told everyone to leave the pool and locked the doors and left early?
Job hunting BS
I'm 21 and I live in a transitional living program (basically they help me pay rent, teach life skills, ect.) that has also given me a temporary job that I've worked at for a year and a half. Currently, I'm trying to find a new job that has better pay and a more “normal” work environment. To encourage me to go out and find one, I'm losing hours at my current one, about 10 hours to be exact (Keep in mind, I make minimum wage). I've applied at nearly 20 places, and I've had FOUR places contact me. Three of them told me I wouldn't be considered, then the other one I interviewed at. That place told me they'd continue in the hiring process and they'd email me an offer letter on Friday after I called them to check on the process after hearing nothing for four days. Today (Monday)…
