I've seen so many posts of people stating they get work from home, but barely even work 1 to 2 hours a day. Maybe a meeting here or there, then answer a couple meetings or something. This sounds like a dream job. So where the hell do you work and how would someone with no experience begin to get into that line of work?
Mental Health Break = No work
I was just told by my EMS company that I can’t pick up an extra shift because I decided to take a mental health day last month…. Wtf
The problem is systemic
I've been taking economy classes in college as a minor. Then it hit me. Something that people in ancient times have already known. The problem is interest. The lending capacities of banks is not limited to deposits of their customers. They can loan money they don't have. The interest a loan generates has to be paid back by the borrower. Money that didn't exist before. THIS right here is the reason why all countries are indebted. THIS is the reason why all companies DEPEND on growing. THIS is the reason why the economy is pressured to increase productivity. YOU are paying for interest with your taxes. As long as there's private banks and hedgefunds, you will be exploited for labor. As long as speculation happens, you will be exploited for labor. You can't have infinite growth with finite resources. You can't have wealth without having poverty. This is capitalism. Divide…
I really enjoy my job and being a bartender/server but this rubbed me in a real bad way. Is my “start-time” a suggestion too? NO. I basically was told that I was expected to be there for the time they need me regardless of what my schedule says. I am so tired. Change needs to happen.
I forgot how absolutely bullshit the job application process is since I’ve been self-employed for a while. They gave me what looked like a copy and pasted standard list of critiques, and 99.9% of it didn’t even apply to my application. For example, they said “candidates with one or more spelling errors were not considered” — bruh I proofread my shit 1000x and have grammarly and spellcheck, you absolutely did not reject me for that reason. Another thing they said is they need candidates with lots of years of experience in ALL of the software skills mentioned. LOL bro no one has 5+ years of experience in every single one of your obscure web applications or software programs. You would’ve been so lucky to have me cuz I actually am good with maybe 80% of them, but no one in the world will match for 100% unless they’re lying to…
I'm in this predicament where I have to deal with my colleague's ridiculousness, bad temper and self-righteousness. One moment they are talking and laughing with me, the next they raise their voice and shout at me (sometimes they scold). They pin the blame on me for stuff when they failed to communicate in the first place (they didn't communicate at all, they just kept it to themselves). Honestly I don't even work for them but apparently seniors think they are right 24/7 and treat me any way they like. I've put up with this for so long. Everyone has their limit and I've reached mine. I've had it enough. The job is great but the colleague isn't. It probably means I'm weak if I choose to resign but at least I'll be happy this way 🙁 Advice?
Like i want to have a list of lawyers from all over the country who I pay to work on cases that they normally wouldn't take because “capitalsim” cases like the billions of companies who tell employees that they can't discuss wages. It would kinda be like a pro Bono firm except they are all paid well and are good at thier jobs. Part of the reason nothing is changing within the legal system in the favor of the poor masses, is because they don't have the money to fight corruption. We all dream what we would do if we won the lottery. I'd start this lawfirm. Start a non-profit to support poor people with mental health/addiction issues. And then use the rest to help people from generational poverty start thier own businesses. But I also wonder how the illuminate would convince me to fall in line, like I'm sure…
Minimum wage in germany
By Oktober 2022, Germany will increase the minimum wage from 9,6€ to 12€ per hour. The minister of work explains this measure as follows: a) it rewards those who kept the economy afloat b) it speeds up economic recovery A nice step in the right direction imo. I was somehow not aware of how absurdly much my boss was asking of me for little compensation until a few years ago, and it got more pronounced and obvious during covid. I've been at my job for the majority of my working life, since I was 22, in 2008. I was hired for 12.50/hour (in a major city) and I currently make 16.50/hour (last raise was 2 or 3 years ago). I have no benefits and only 5 vacation days and 2 sick days a year. Minimum wage here is 15/hour. The job is for an increasingly small company. When I started, there were 30+ employees, I was one of 2 or 3 for the past 7 years, and then I've been the only employee (most of the time) since 2020. I keep many parts of the business running entirely by myself and have a number of areas of…
