I do wonder Who are union busting workers? How do they get to work in a union busting role? What's the professional path that led to that role? Who raised them? Who educated them? How do they get their first job union-busting? Who micro-manages them? What are the consequences of failing? Do you have to explain that, even though a union was formed, you delayed it and made it smaller? Can they stop union busting? What careers do they have when they stop union busting? There should be websites full of that information to help labour organisers fight back. I have no idea where to start, hence the questions.
Are my references too old?
I graduated from college last May (May 2021). Since graduating I have been substitute teaching in multiple districts/schools (I’m literally at a different school on a daily basis) so I haven’t developed additional references. I have three letters of recommendation that were all written in either late 2020 or early 2021, with supervisors/coworkers I worked with up until August of 2021 (so six months ago) and March of 2020. (If it makes a difference, I worked with one supervisor for 4 years and I worked with the other two for over 2 years). I applied for a job that I had to jump a bunch of hoops for. They wanted me to purchase a Drivers Abstract ($10 at the BMV) plus give them original transcripts (also $10) all BEFORE having a potential interview. The email said I could “email or mail” these items to them but after I emailed them…

Human Service- When is it enough?
Hello! All this attention to nurses and teachers quitting to find other work has made me question my field. I am in a supervisory position (middle Management) I work in a niche field of people with ID & MH diagnoses. Our pay rate is determined at a state level. My work has always been fair and just gives us the max and says “you won't get a raise unless the rates increase”. The rates have increased over covid and I saw those raises. (Which was eh TBH) I think my work is very fair in that regard compared to other companies who pay less and then give raises. (But this means there is no difference if you've been here 3 or 10 years, and I've been here 7) However, during covid we have been asked to do many “extra things” to meet cdc guidelines and now we are switching over…
US – Wages & Inflation
Job searching in Arizona where the highest “wage” I can find is $12.80 is honestly making me want to kms. Even jobs asking for degrees or years of experience still only start at $13.50, what a cruel joke. Cost of living here is the exact same as the northeast, where many jobs are starting to pay $15-17 (still exploitation but not as degrading as $12). I’m not asking to be a millionaire, but a fucking living wage would be nice. Is there another country that isn’t as horrible as the US? I know Norwegian countries are pretty ok but they also make it so hard to immigrate to. Mexico?? As a female will I get assaulted there or something?
Tips for writing an “I quit” email?
I've only really worked like a shift for this company but I'm kinda at the start of a pretty intense burnout and so mentally can't work a job. However I'm also really anxious about sending the resignation email and I don't really know what to say in it or how to word the general needing to quit for mental health reasons. I want to try and keep a positive sort of relationship because they have a summer position I'm interested in. But yeah any tips people have on how I could word this, especially with it being required of being two weeks notice but like I mentally can't work more shifts.
