Tampa, FL wage theft
Anybody have a contact for a labor lawyer in Tampa? The owner of the bar I used to work at is refusing to give me a W-2 for 2021 and I don’t even know if I should file a claim with the department of labor or if I should do a consultation with a lawyer? I’m a little lost and need help.
IATSE petition for a fair contract
Sign the petition here: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/tell-fox-give-broadcast-workers-a-fair-contract?source=direct_link& The Broadcast Workers who bring local FOX news coverage to the New York and Washington DC metro areas continue to fight to end their decade-long wage freeze and negotiate a fair agreement. So far, the give and take required for productive negotiations has been disproportionate, and management has refused to move off their demands to create a more disposable workforce. In this, FOX Television Stations, Inc. is turning its back on 75 years of stable labor conditions and a productive labor-management relationship. FOX’s Broadcast Workers are asking for your support! Will you sign our petition demanding management return to the table with a fair proposal and negotiate in good faith? FOX’s latest proposal included provisions that would: Deprive the Union of its lawful right to bargain over terms and conditions of employment by offloading subjects of collective bargaining onto Company Handbooks and policies which can…
I’m quitting my current company soon and I have about 160 hours of paid time off (PTO) that I haven’t used. Can I use those PTO hours at the same time when I start working at the new company? It looks like I’ll be employed at both places at the same time. Can there be repercussions for doing this? I’m in the United States. Thank you!
I work for a nonprofit and got curious as to what our CEO, or other high-ranking company officials, might make. I know some salaries in some sectors are a matter of public record, I just wonder which and where I might find them.
Why is it that one can't get paid a high rate per hour, to work 20 hours/wk? Yes I'd make half as much, but I'd work half as much and maybe that's right for me. But no, all part time jobs, are under 20/hr, usually far under. And never come with benefits. I want a high paying, part time, real job with benefits. Why is that so much to ask. discuss
Small wholesome moment at work
I work for a grocery store, minimum wage and all that. But it is the deli department, so when I am hungry, I can just write it off and eat it. Since I am mostly alone in my department, no one really notices. Everyone in my department does that. At evenings, others ask me to just write things off for them, so they can take it home instead of letting it go to waste. Is it allowed? No. That's why I use this throwaway account. Anyways. My department manager has a terrible schedule this week. Three times she works from 06:00-19:45 with a three hour break. I wanted to take one of those shifts away from her. Instead of only working the few hours she is on her break, I suggested working the closing shift. But my boss said that I am not allowed to have any more overtime. So…
“I Sweep as Good as You Pay”
a line from a new movie I'm watching. Honestly, I think that encapsulates this entire movement.
