Title sounds like I'm a crazed stalker or something, but I'm really not. So for a little context, my partner suffers with some mental health issues that I won't go into. This has meant she has had to take time off work previously. On top of this, she is being bullied by a colleague in the place. After multiple times notifying her management, absolutely nothing was done about it. This is to the point where we feel the workplace is unsafe for her to be in. She was due to meet her manager about this today. 9.30 am roles around and I get a call from her asking for me to pick her up. I reschedule my meetings, hop in the wagon and hightail it down there. She comes outside, sits in the car and said her manager is waiting for me. I'm a little bit more experienced than her…
Manager of department has set small projects for each employee to improve our department such as making plans for rooms or sourcing new equipment. The majority of us are paid hourly but it’s implied that we would be researching outside of work hours. Boss didn’t mention anything about pay. The problem is, my task is due on the day of my appraisal (chance of starting training towards a promotion). What do I do?
What do you do to bring in money?
non employee or employer jobs. My office job is soul crushing and I want out. Just need some ideas because I never want to work for anyone ever again.
The Age of Anti-Ambition
Wrongful termination?
Just asked to start talks so I can schedule a therapy appointment, gm asked very intrusive questions and called me a baby. I then asked about workplace to workplace pay as I noticed my timeclock was missing a few hrs between sites and a good bit when I first showed up at the office(I'm an HVAC tech under a general contractor) and the GM literally said if you're asking questions already it's not going to workout and then started called the cops when I went to ask HR about it Edit 1: I'm in the grand ole state of SC
Been working for a place for a few weeks with an impossible to achieve sales quota, a 30 day $500 retention bonus AND despite being fully staffed they constantly run ads on Indeed. Wanna bet no one actually lasts 30 days? 🤣🤣
So…. Admittedly i walked out of this place after the owner threatened me and wasnt paying people because he was blowing all his money on drugs. He owes me around 1400$ technically and this is from 2ish years ago. Honestly at the time i didnt realize thats illegal. Could i still potentially get that money???
Boss Told Me to Stop Working
I need some advice as something feels really fishy about this situation. I recently discovered that a new hire was making significantly more than I was. I went to discuss this with my boss and let him know that if I wasn't afforded a raise that I would be putting in my resignation. When he mentioned the company policy about not discussing wages, I made sure to make note that it was against the law to prohibit employees from discussing wages. When I left I asked that my year end bonus, my PTO, and my final paycheck would be paid out at the end of the month. This morning I received a call from my boss. He let me know that my bonus, my PTO in my final paycheck would indeed be delivered at the end of the month and that I also would not need to work anymore. For…
Im a physical therapist and I do a lot of prep work and see patients all day long. We have a system where if they schedule more than 5 evaluations, they block some documentation time. Well, it just so happened that my documentation time was first thing in the morning. I had finished all of my prep the day before so I figure I could come in later in the day. Well, one of my coworkers snitched and apparently they're enforcing my hours versus being flexible (which they touted as an advantage before I was hired). I accepted a job at Kaiser because of the benefits even though it meant I had a 5$/hour paycut. I'm salty but I don't know how to respond without shooting myself in the foot. I need your help anti-work. How do I respond ?
