Started a job 3 weeks ago, do i cope or do i leave is the question for me right now

So i started work around 3 weeks ago, i hate it. I've broken down in tears everyday before work so far. To start off with im a young female and im working in the service and food industry. The way management talks to me is disgusting, it's snappy, it's rude and abrupt, it's like im less than nothing when I'm still learning the job and how to do all different parts of it. They have Zero patience for someone new and learning it's disgusting. I've worked in jobs where management was bad but never so rude and ill mannered. The other thing is the hours, they're awful. I'm working parttime and when i was hired i asked to be working during the day if possible as that would work for me and also said i wasn't available a certain day of the week. I'm now working afternoon shifts until night…

Help with how to tell boss about boundaries

I’m up for a promotion. I’m currently the lowest level position in the company. I am the temporary assistant manager until the official hiring of an assistant manager. There will be interviews for the official assistant manager soon, which I want to apply for. Others will also apply, so I’m not guaranteed the promotion. My general manager’s boss (let’s call them Taylor) texted my work phone in a group chat with my general manager (call them Dana) and another assistant manager (call them Alex) an hour after we closed, asking what the sales numbers were. Everyone in the group chat has access to look up those numbers, including Taylor. I don’t look at my work phone if I’m not clocked in. By the morning, Alex had answered the question. Dana was out of town for that weekend and pretty much said before leaving that they wouldn’t be available. Taylor and…

Shady Employers

I am always puzzled by employees that stick up or defend shady employers. A couple of years ago at my previous place of employment I was asked to take my overtime and roll any hours or minutes into the next day. This was from the mouth of the owner of an Alaskan small business. Not only was she telling me this but her manager was sitting right next to her. They both Owner and manager can see my reaction as I said “hmmm” and walked away. I brought this up to two of her long term employees and they seemed to have no problem with it. To them it seemed like that was normal. My thoughts of course are why are these people defending her? Protecting her? The pay is crap, literally, it is crap at $11.00. The two employees that have been with her shop for so long and…

Not getting told I wouldn’t be paid for overtime.

I was working at a pizza deli type place that's a small owner operated place. When I started working I had specifically told the owner I could only work a certain number of hours and he kept scheduling me overtime. I eventually said fuck it and I could use the extra money. He paid cash also which was nice until awhile after I quit I received a tax form from him, but I had never given him my ss# or filled anything out. Luckily I made shit that year and was below the income bracket for having to pay taxes. Anyway on payday he gives me my cash and I run the numbers in my head and realize it's doesn't include the time and a half for the OT I worked. He tells me he isn't required to pay OT because he has under 5 employees. One of the other…

Wife’s client’s father smokes in the house while she is there to provide services, comes home to our 4 month old with hair and clothes putrid with secondhand smoke.

Hey there, looking for advice on advising my wife. I've told her she needs to report this client's parent for smoking while she is providing services and that all that chemical stuff is in her hair when she picks up the baby and the coatroom smells like an ashtray. I'd like to know her rights with regards to this matter. I don't think I'm overreacting and I have good communication with my wife but she is stubborn and always interests my advice as telling her what to do. Well, I advised her to document and report the incident to her employer, but then even if the dude stops smoking while she's there I don't like that she's going into this house and bringing those chemicals back around our four month old. He's cool and hes always babbling now. What do I need to know about moving forward with this?

Net 30/60/90 pay.

Net 30-90 pay scale sucks. I know some offices pay once a month and people don’t mind. But if you aren’t working full time for a company, it can be tough to get paid 30 to 90 days after being completion of contracted work. January was slow. February has been busy but it’s still tough because I won’t see this money for another month. That’s all. Just complaining.
