Okay so this isn’t anti-work but just curious on everyone’s thoughts as the sub has decent diversity in jobs. I worked at a bio processing plant and the scheduling is 7pm-7am rotating mon/tues wed/thurs fri/sat/sun on and off. The pay is quite good there, but I have a lot of trouble sleeping and and it’s mentally exhausting working those hours especially on a night shift. Do you guys think it’s worth good pay? It is the most i can get right now, without having to work 2-3 years at a another company to match the pay. the job itself is quite boring as i sit at a computer most of the time, however i also enjoy the coworkers there, and have a decent amount of free time to chill on my phone and relax a little. I have an opportunity to go back and I’m not sure if i should…
The SBA’s PPL (Paycheck protection loan) that you’re boss got when businesses were closed or harmed due to Covid? They were supposed to use that to be able to pay you. They probably had it forgiven (not that hard), meaning they don’t have to pay it back. Did they “protect your paycheck” as in hire you back and pay you properly as they were required to do with that money they were given that they now do not have to pay back?
To appreciate minimum wage
This is an actual job qualification…
I am a 17 year old male and have been working for Subway for about a year and a half. My coworkers are lovely and my bosses (I thought) were pretty awesome. A couple of stories I've heard from my coworkers has brought some terrible things to my attention. Firstly, the manager of the store sets up deliveries on all days that she doesn't work, so she doesn't have to do extra work. On the days that she sets up the deliveries to, my coworkers are forced to pick up the slack. In order to get through the morning tasks in time to put the deliveries away, they have to wake up at 6:30ish every morning (normal work time is from 8, to have the store open and accepting orders at 9) and sometimes even earlier, to arrive at the store at around 7-7:30. They are not paid overtime for…
TW MENTAL HEALTH: Part of me wants to keep fighting for what were all here for, the other part of me just wants to stop wallowing in my own pity to the point of s*icide and accept that ill always be broke but yolo! I never know what side to stand on
So tired of these companies that take your money each month but when it comes to using it does everything possible to prevent you from getting care. My wife works full time and has dental insurance and they still want 3700 out of pocket to pay for the work. Insurance is supposed to cover stuff like this when in reality it’s a farce. So instead she has to deal with the pain each night until we can hopefully save up the money after a couple months.
