I see this all the time on my job hunt. Minimum wage was raised to 13.20 this January, and I’m still seeing employers offering 12.50 or less. I even saw an 11.10 for a local business. Do they want to get reported??
Doing Nothing at Work
Does anyone else feel happy when they can just sit at work doing nothing all day? My job literally sucks so bad when I have to actually do work, so when there's nothing to do it's the greatest thing ever. Today I have nothing to do and I hope it stays that way all day. Seriously fuck this company. I hope everyone else here commits some “time theft” today.
So I've starting working for this tech company recently and I was given a contract for part-time work for X number of months for trial basis, after which time they would review my contract and hire me full-time. Within a couple of weeks of working, my boss gets in touch with me and says that they've decided to hire me full-time, but that he needs to meet with me to iron out of the details. At the meeting he says that they're happy with my progress and even though it's only been a couple of weeks since I started, they want to take me on full-time and give me another project. There's a caveat. He says that he's been told that the salary I'm currently being paid is too much for the geographical region in which I'm located, and that they would like to renegotiate my contract to pay me…
I currently work as a security guard and for half of my day I just sit at a desk most of my shift. My other post for the last 3 hours I count cars every 20 min for 2 hours. So really, I do about 40 minutes of actual work in a 8 hour day. I would like to know, what jobs have you done where you basically just get to do mostly nothing the whole time?
