Earlier this year I was on a good path and was assured I am to get a promotion which entailed better compensation and benefits, which never happened due to unexplained to me reasons. I decided to suck it up and continue grinding until the annual review cycle finished. During the discussion where I got to find out my results I was told that I am unfit for the promotion and I will only be getting a 3% increase in terms of salary which doesn't even match the inflation happening in my country at all.
