My phone has been buzzing today from the fallout of a meeting had yesterday. The meeting was called because the manager is not impressed with our department logging onto teams at 8:35 while working from home when we're supposed to be clocking on at 8:30 (this simply means that we're starting our workday at 8:30 and it takes a few minutes for our computer to load up, the same as in the office). His response to this “issue” is to call a meeting at the end of the day where he says if the issue isn't fixed we'll have to go back to the office. This statement was made as the clock hit 5, to which I said “noted and I will observe the new requirements in future, but I need to finish on time today as my CV needs updating. Thanks for your time and goodbye.” Now I'm getting…
Been underpaid and overworked at my job for a year and a half. Waited 3 months for my annual performance review when everyone else’s was done. Verbally abused by coworkers and misunderstood by my manager, ignored when I threw my back out doing unrealistic amounts of work by myself. I got a 4% raise on $55,000 and a 4% bonus. Insulting as I got 10% for both last year and worked my ass off and got a glowing performance review this year. Went through 3 rounds of interviews for a company since early February and a test assignment for them and they offered me a job that results in lots of perks such as WFH option, more pay, bigger bonuses, closer to home, and 100% paid health insurance where I was paying $300/month before. My old job asked me to give more than two weeks, that was the most pathetic…

I just got accepted into Raya dating app and I’ve successfully referred a few of my friends. Let me know if you want one!
Yesterday, I confronted my Boss.
This is a bit of a story so Ill do a TL;DR. Where to start. Been working at this company for about a year and a half now. I learned very early on that my boss is a very slimy individual. My first week he made an inappropriate 'joke' to me over zoom in from of several of my new coworkers. He joked that, “if I didn't use the company computer to look at porn, I'd have gotten the work done.” First. Fuckin. Week. In a zoom meeting in front of others. Red. Fuckin. Flag. (This isnt the main story of the post but just an example of the shit he does) A few months in, he began paying attention to how long I'm in the bathroom. One morning he calls me into his office and asks me to close the door. I ask whats up. And hes like, “Whats…
Hate when I’m right
Recently my employer has been on us about labor. I chalk this up to they tried some long term promotion without any advertising and it FAILED. This lead to my former GM getting fired/quitting. I’ve said it I’ve lost track of how many times that we’ll never hit labor. First off the percent “promise” was not something the employees agreed on rather something corporate thrust upon us. We’ve had my regional manager in & she can’t even get the labor down. We’ve told higher ups that your labor machine is broken, but they refuse to listen. The store computer says one number but the app says another. Store computer says 27%, app says 35%. We’ve had 3 catering orders one day with just 3 employees & still didn’t make labor. Yesterday 3 employees and we were non stop. Lobby & drive through full. Still didn’t make labor. Love how stupid…
Article about the Antiwork subreddit
Hi all, just saw this article about the Antiwork subreddit on the popular german news outlet “Die Zeit” (online). Title of the Article: “Antiwork”: Sie kündigen in Massen Translation: “Antiwork”: They are resigning in droves https://www.zeit.de/wirtschaft/2022-03/anti-work-kuendigungen-usa-arbeitsmarkt-doreen-ford?utm_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F All in all a quite unbiased, neutral and kind of positive article, talking about the employment situation in the US and some stories from this subreddit. It's nice to see these kinds of articles in Europe, I really hope it can get more traction around there. (I'm from a german speaking country myself)
My coworkers are CONSTANTLY complaining about seniors throwing shit they are supposed to do at us. They will insist that they are not gonna do it (to me) but will agree to it happily when approached by the seniors. I get that everyone complains but that isn't what annoys me. What really irritates the shit out of me is how ambiguous they are being. You don't resist something adamantly then proceeds to do the thing you said you're not gonna do. And I know I can stay out of it but the basis of all the relationship between my coworkers are constant bitching and complaining. I don't join but I listen and its freaking annoying.
