Job makes me want to die, also question about unemployment

I work as a construction inspector. 3 years working through covid with minimal support and a dollar raise is the cherry on top, going from zero experience to being asked to handle projects all on my own. Whenever I bring up the fact I'm not happy with my pay they counter with the typical “you're an integral part of the team” bullshit and how “raises come to those who are movers and shakers” and that I need something to show to justify a raise like taking more pointless certification courses or some other waste of my time. Honestly they could give me a $20 raise and I'd still tell them to shove it at this point. I really hate the desk jockeys here that drive Teslas and work from their nice homes while I drive a 20 year old junker and live in a roach infested apartment. All I think…

I do deliverable-based contract work. The company claims they can wait up to 2 weeks to issue payment?

So, in my contract, I'm supposed to get paid on the 1st and the 15th. This was apparently an oversight as they were in the midst of transitioning to 1 monthly payment only. I was willing to accept that as they were honest with the mistake. It sent a red flag up for me to be cautious, however. During a meeting on the 1st they claimed it's policy for them to take until the 15th every month to issue the payment intended for the 1st. Obviously, this isn't going to fly and I'm working on finding a new job. This company wants to sponsor my certification and even take me on salary starting next month, but these two diversions from my contract have left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Is this payment delay common practice for this type of work?

“People ask what you do for a living so they can calculate the level of respect to give you.” As an unemployed musician, facing repeated job rejections, I read this quote a year ago and out of frustration for all creatives who are told their passion has no value, wrote his song.

Hospital gate keep workers and allow rich workers to return to work, while using fear and intimidation to capture the wealth of poor workers all to increase corporate profits.

I am a bit of a troll on Reddit, I have been through a lot of therapy and am working to improve how I interact on the subs. I actively evaluate how I interact and try to be a better community member, and at times am incredibly critical of Reddit fucks who employ tactics and try to take power from other and limit the speech of other on this amazingly beautify experiment of a platform. I am fiercely passionate about worker right tho, the rebirth of the American Dream and will always support an individual’s personal liberty and right to participate. I truly love people and want a better American experience and experiment. It is time for a better America. I apologize for the writing, try to make it through it. This post fits here, IMO, as insurance to maintain one’s health is vital at this point for participation in…

Forced to use PTO on days I leave early for medical appointments (I’m exempt, not hourly)

I'm a nurse in Oregon. I am a full-time exempt/salaried employee at a major hospital. A perk of being exempt (or so I thought) is that I am paid for a full day of work regardless if I have to leave a little early to make an appointment. There is even a policy at my work place that exempt employees aren't even allowed to use PTO on partial work days. However, my manager has recently been adjusting my timecard and docking my PTO for days I have left early for my medical appointments (I have had a lot recently). Is this even legal? Has anybody else had to deal with this scenario before?

Lost my job for using the sick time given to me

I recently had a terrible case of the flu. I updated my bosses everyday. They said I was using my sick time. When I came in on the day I told them I would be returning they gave me a final check and said I missed too much work. It's like all of the contact with them never happened.
