I wanted to post here because my work just “updated” our attendance policy and had all employees sign it. Personally I think it is extreme…. let me hear what your guys work says about call ins!
Sharing why I’m quitting my current job
I work once or twice a week (on top of having my trauma triggered daily at work), my work loses my paycheck and when I finally get it it ends up being $56. I don’t get paid enough to care about my job, has anybody else had a similar experince?
Screwed on job offer
Idk if this is the correct sub but was expecting job as tech for electronics repair company but when offered job they changed my position to basically a glorified receptionist and lowered my expected pay significantly I’m in a tight spot and have no other offers on the table and have no choice but to take the job How do I use anti work effectively to show them I’m displeased with this while still maintaining the job until I get another offer Should I grow up and just be happy or….
CEOs Will Be Clamping Down On Employees
Maybe employees should clamp down harder – and call a general wild cat strike showing the CEOs who really makes the money for the company. For every percentage of workers laid off, that equals the number of weeks the strike lasts.
F Food Service
So it's the only way I can make enough money to live. I'm a banquet server. I got this new job at a different hotel because my last manager had NPD. We get our hourly wage and gratuity based on the events, but my paychecks are always the same. With various hours and various gratuities it just doesn't make sense. I went to HR and they didn't do anything. Who can I turn to when HR shuts me down? (Shuts me down again, they were useless at my last job too, f food service)
To add context, my boss is my family member, but the owner acts like the supreme leader running around like a chicken with his head cut off. This is exactly what “quiet hiring” is. So I work in administration, data entry, some payroll, special projects, doing work running random errands that don’t necessarily have to do with the main operations. Also have an office manager, I really good coworker of mine, except he has a specific job description, so that’s where I come in to fill in a lot of the holes because he doesn’t wanna do things outside of what he actually applied and got hired for. However that has changed a lot in the past month, and both him and I are looking for new jobs. But what’s hilarious is that he has started to be given the work that I was previously doing because I say yes…
I have an interview for Nothing
Just a funny anecdote, I’m doing a quick interview. The position I applied for got filled, (had an interview scheduled but it went to their junk mail), so I’m just applying in general, like just for general ongoing openings. I think that’s hilarious.
I work at the usual type of gross cut throat company. All for profits, horrible company culture, fuck the hard working people who have stayed long hours for crap pay etc etc. I’ve just started applying to other places but I’m having a very hard time knowing how to behave towards these shady assholes who run the show. Any advice on what I can do to jump ship quickly so I can be the one to give them the middle finger?! It’s scary out there. I’m hearing about so many layoffs lately.
potential cockroach infestation
so yesterday I found a cockroach at work, and today a coworker had one crawl across her foot I told my boss, who said they will spray tonight at 6pm (9 hours from now) I told her that's not how infestations work and that all it's gonna take for a patient to take home an infestation will be for a roach to hop in someone's bag looking for the Werther's Original they forgot about at the bottom of their purse, and that cockroaches are excellent vectors for diseases that might put the lives of our immunocompromised patients at risk they won't close down right now and do it because we won't be able to work for 2 hours which will obviously cost them money opinions? thoughts? prayers?
Looking Out for Layoffs..
I work as an analyst for a fairly large online retailer that would compete with companies like Wayfair. Lately it’s the (unfortunately) usual story for tech – key company metrics are down, no backfills, we’ve let some people go and are tightening the belt… I have already been concerned about imminent layoffs because I can’t see us not having one if we don’t have a magical uptick in all sales. However, something weird has happened recently and I wonder if it’s coming sooner rather than later. Several of the individuals on the team I’m on have been promoted. My performance hasn’t been poor and I have never been warned or disciplined for any reason, but I’m less experienced than most of my peers. It feels like they are trying to elevate some people to a space where they become untouchable and those promotions come with a salary boost… even though…
