Threatening behaviour from ex boss
I lost my job at the beginning of December after my boss threatened to “come down and kick my f******” head in” for speaking over the top of him on a four way phone call. I had an incident like this when I was a teenager, where a boss entered my home and attacked me. Because of this I refuse to work for someone like that. So after the threat, I quit. I've had no contact with the company throughout December. I was meant to be paid on Dec 31st but as of yet I haven't seen a penny. I've been calling and messaging the business manager (not the person who threatened me, that was the business owner) trying to get paid. The replies have been very scarce. Yesterday all I got all day was “I'll call you back”. Until the owner decide to phone me several times to threaten…
I received an email saying that we can no longer call out of work, no matter the circumstances, without using our vacation days (if we even have them). Im located in Maine, is this for real?
How can people discern what the outcomes would be like? We might need some new economic systems altogether. Perhaps the future is project-based, and perhaps it will focus more on research and discovery.
It’s you boss, it’s you.
I work in a small office, 3 or 4 people depending on the time of year, and a few days ago one of my coworkers quit. This is the 7th person to quit in the last 20 months. Every single one of them sited my boss as the main reason they were quitting. My boss asked me to honestly tell him why I think so many people quit. I spent 40 minutes telling him all the reasons I could remember being told by those that quit. After all of that his conclusion is that they were all lazy. He actually said that. I think he blocked out everything I said.
The real reason for Amazon layoffs
Hiring Manager: we want to hire someone who has knowledge about the latest online communication approaches. That way we could work on increasing sales and recruit more employees. (I describe how my experience and knowledge relates to the job) Me: Have you tried online ads, different social media sites, and SEO in the past? Hiring Manager: No, that’s what we were hoping you would be helpful with working on for us. (I start to shudder inwardly. This company sells huge products and should have hired a digital team 5 years ago to create ongoing digital strategies)
