I requested today (Valentines Day) off months ago, before Christmas even. 2 weeks ago my boss came to me and said even though my time off was approved, I’ll have to work because his partner got them Dua Lipa concert tickets. This is the third Valentines Day I’ve spent with this company, and I’ve had to work every single one, despite requesting each one off. Fuck this, my girlfriend deserves better than this and I don’t even know where to go from here. Oh yeah, my boss told me last week he might not even go to the concert. Anyway, I hope everyone had a good Valentines, I just needed to vent.
I get my health benefits through my wife and have been for the past six years (we actually got legally married the day after I turned 26 because I needed health insurance because my narcolepsy medication costs $300+ a month and I’ve had a few bouts of cancer). It was announced last week at her place of employment that a group of auditors were going to come in to perform an audit and make sure that everyone on the health plan was eligible. I was not eligible for insurance when we got married as I was just an intern, but there’s a rule (not sure if it’s a new rule or existing one) for her workplace’s insurance that says, “If your spouse is eligible for insurance at his or her place of employment, they are ineligible for this plan.” No only are they looking into my eligibility, but they want…
Hi all, How common is it to sign a confidentiality agreement before a job interview? Anyone experience this?
Advice on how to handle situation
So my situation is I'm a level 2 casual trying to get a level 3 contract full time (already working full time hours). In order to do so my direct manager and floor manager need to sign me off on training. I have done all my training and have been doing the amount of work for 4 people. I've been asking my direct manager and my boss all year to do my training so I can be signed off and done, however my manager is refusing to sign off. He refuses to sign off because the other day someone wasn't here and person who was meant to do his job decided to just vanish for a while which forced me to do his job too. I have been trained…
Put in my notice
Just put in my 2 week notice, should I call off tomorrow? I have paid sick time available, I live in Ohio
My artistic interpretation of capitalism
My job is a pretty sweet work from home gig and I am not looking to just quit it if I can come up with a good excuse to get out of this. Basically the manager (because we work from home now and they no longer have the power of the office) will do random facetime video calls throughout the week to verify we are by our work computer and working on things. To be completely honest, sometimes things do slow down, so I will go out to run that 15 min errand, or take a little longer lunch. I get all my work done but if you had to put a gun to my head, sure, I probably don't work every single minute the company thinks I am. That being said, I do genuinely care about getting my work done, and would not take any liberties if I knew…
