Joining a new job and being treated like a peasant by your mentor

No end in months of micro micro micro-management and feeling like an admin bleep. Don’t want to leave because it’s an amazing company and job but the closest person I work with on a daily basis is an absolute nightmare. Rant over.

My amazon dsp doesn’t clean their interior windshields.

So lately I’ve been clocking in 15 minutes early so that I can clean my van windshield and see properly. Seeing as that’s a safety hazard and something amazon is has liability for, am I legally clocking in early. In addition, my dsp makes us clock in at a time where we couldn’t realistically do our pre checklist on our vans and get ready for our route in time. Who can I contact to show that I am actually working during those times?

Interviewers were playing Tetris

I applied for a job and went through 3 stages of interviews. Felt pretty confident I'd get the job. A week later they call up and I can't make this up. They said, “Hello (My name). We've been reviewing our tetris board and can't fit you on there so unfortunately you won't be working with us.” My only response was, “Sorry, what? You're…playing tetris? Shouldn't you be working on applicants?” “Yes, we are, and with our tetris board -” “So you're treating your whole application process like a game? Good to know, thank you.” Hung up. People don't really think before speaking sometimes.

Success Stories From Lying On Your Resume

Title says it all. I'm a recent college graduate (7 months ago) and I just had my first day at my second job since graduating and am feeling hopeless. I studied journalism but have limited experience compared to many of my peers which makes job hunting difficult. I struggled with my mental health in school and it made the prospect of seeking challenging opportunities paralyzing. My new job isn't in my field and after my first day I know it isn't for me. I know I'm smart and capable but between ridiculous job standards and my own limited experience I'm struggling to find worthwhile jobs. To anyone who has lied on a resume and gotten a job, did you experience repercussions? Were you able to fake it until you made it? Thanks for any and all advice or experiences! It's nice to have a place to talk about this kind…

Only thing worse than being an employee for a corporation is being a temp for a corporation.

My company actually has decent benefits. Health insurance, raises, bonuses, all major holidays off and paid, free shoes, it’s the most of any company I’ve personally worked for. There’s just one issue. I’ve been a temp for 5 months, am way beyond my 300hr sign on period, and I keep being given the runaround for why I’m not permanent yet. Every excuse is total BS and I’ve called them out on it, but it’s always just “ok let me see what I can do and I’ll get back to you”. They never get back to me. So I get back to them, and it’s always a new BS excuse. Wash, rinse, repeat. And of course, no surprise, since I’m a temp, I get NONE of the aforementioned benefits. From the time I should’ve been signed on, I should’ve gotten new shoes, pay for Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve…
