Getting a job where I’m located is extremely easy, but hardly any companies pay even $12/hr. I have two jobs I love but I hardly get any hours. I do online work for most of my wages, but every once in a while when I need a little extra money, I love getting a job for a few days just to quit. The thrill is so good. I love giving shitty owners a horrible Monday and no opener. I always quit Sunday night over email I usually do restaurants because they’re desperate and I can just chill in the dish pit for a couple days. I usually choose restaurants that I know suck or have sucky owners. I can essentially do piece work when I need a few extra bucks! I have great interviewing skills so I usually get the position. These guys are also way too lazy to let…
So, I work in a somewhat dangerous job category, but I'd rather not say what it is to remain anonymous. When I had my first interview my current boss told me the company is all “culture, culture, culture”. This worried me from the get go but, I said I wanted to give it a shot and I'd hope I would fit in. My previous job was doing almost the same exact type of work, and I was a foreman there. I did very well at that job, and for the most part i was unsupervised. So I figured the new job wouldn't be too bad. The problem for me is I have social anxiety, so I suppose it could be my fault for even trying. But now that I'm in it, I feel like it was a complete waste to start here. There is a company team meeting almost every…
Trainer steals.
My trainer is dick. So entitled. He thinks his all that. He was especially dicky yesterday so i called him out on his theft of customer product. He pulled out his phone to call the boss and i said Be prepared to answer to your continued theft of customer product… He said Prove it I said I have pics and videos… Lets go to Hr right now. ! Fuck you ed Time to pay up
My teammate asked our CEO, of a multi-state-mega-cannabis-corp, for a chance at higher pay for harder working teams and individuals. Basically, an incentivized raise, and he completely dismissed it. Later, in a private convo with the Director of Operations at our facility, I tell him I’m proud of her and others for speaking up about such tough topics to the CEO. He tells me they went about it wrong, and he’s going to “coach” them tomorrow. He says, “I just don’t see where this entitlement comes from”. I’m just SHOCKED. Last Friday our payroll glitched and everyone got paid a day late. SEVERAL people came up to me, panicked that they wouldn’t make it to next week. Some scared they wouldn’t even have gas to make it home. I was in tears telling him this and he just.. “well it happened to us too.. well at least we still got…
Hi everyone, I am an hourly employee & upon leaving the office today, I realized I forgot to mention something on a group chat to one of our field managers. When I got home, I logged in through my laptop and posted on the chat. Right after, my manager separately messaged me and asked “do you have the chats on your personal phone?”. I let her know I do not, logged in through my laptop and I’m sorry if I shouldn’t have logged in but I wanted to make sure nothing was missed on my end. She responded with “let’s chat tomorrow. Have a goodnight”. What could she mean? Is this a fireable offense or even ground for a writeup? I’m having extreme anxiety over this.
I have been overworked, scolded, pressured by bosses for all my career. I kind of expect that. The way that coworkers who want to show “their value” to boss man act is oftentimes worse. They will undermine you, sabotage your work subtly or worse and they will never be your “friend”.. Learned that the hard way after having a coworker share my personal issues with the boss man. Remember folks, You work for them or with them? Chances are they are not your friends. Except if you have a union. Then no one is alone!
We work at a well-known parts store. After I started in August, the two positions that fall directly under the GM were vacated. The first position is responsible for completing inventory, making sure merchandise is in the correct spot, etc… The second works with local service centers and is responsible for dispatching parts delivery drivers; this position is being phased out in favor of a remote call center. They have been vacant since Sept. and Oct., respectively. Since then, the other team members and I have picked up the responsibilities of the two positions without being compensated for doing so. Despite the two former employees making a combined rate of an estimated $30/hr, the remaining team members have not received a raise. (I’m currently making 10.75/hr as a keyholder/MOD.) One of the other keyholders has been gunning for the first position (the inventory one), but has constantly been told by…
