This Reddit is loosely what we all need, but there needs to be a way to we can efficiently organize and communicate goals and steps to enact real and true change, one Starbucks here or there isn’t enough… but if every Starbucks walked out, if every lowes/home depot didn’t show up for a day, that message would be swift and effective.
The complaint vs. the synopsis
ex employer did me a solid
So my former employer ( a hospice agency) is instituting a 30 point a day policy where the field nurses have to meet all 30 points everyday and go help other nurses or face reprimand. Hospice is a niche industry to begin with so nurses aren't breaking down the door to work there. This is a not for profit company, so it doesn't pay well. A friend of mine tells me they had no admissions today. It sounds like they're trying desperately to manage themselves out of existence.
It's a medical issue, not to mention I have ADHD, my brain had gone to shit. Just shows how much we are treated like cattle.
This is in the state of Texas. My friend moved here from out of state a few months ago for a Montessori teaching job. It's a private Montessori school, and she is one of the most impressive people I've known in youth development (also my field). Since she started this job 2 months ago she has been sleeping 4 hours a night. They place demands on her that can't be fulfilled in the hours given. The hours in school are already requiring unpaid overtime by design (total of 45 hours/week) but she spends the remaining hours getting classrooms ready and purchasing supplies that they haven't reimbursed her for. She also has health conditions so I'm amazed she can do this at all. She told me she doesn't have time to take her break at work, so her intermittent fasting has been pushed to the point she eats once a day…
…And then being told by the same person that you did that task wrong.
Walmart store 499 in Enid had 4 armchairs in the break room. Now they’re gone. God forbid employees should have even a modicum of comfort.
