I started a new job the first week of May. I was offered a number of weeks of PTO as part of my offer, which they increased over the standard new hire offer, due to my previous employment history already giving me a higher amount. I find out the day I start that company policy has a “90-day probation period” before you can take PTO. I got my boss and the VP of HR to approve an exception because I had previously planned and booked a trip to a conference that occurred the last week of July, literally the week before the end of the 90 days. I make sure people in the company know I'll be gone ahead of time. I'm in sales and had a couple of proposals in process due after I get back. I made sure to get everything I could done on them to leave…
I'm starting a new job at Walmart because I need money to pay my rent after my old job put me on temporary layoff and it's brake and rooms are so cultish the backrooms have quotes from the company founder and on an old video he is telling you to smile and become outgoing even if your outgoing by nature. The brake room has a picture of him overlooking his most famous quote I feel like that's intended but what do you guys think am I just being paranoid or am I right.

Made it through 2 rounds of interviews with Sensei Wellness (Resort company) opening up a new location and a few days before my third one I tested positive for Covid and asked if we can reschedule or do virtual. Was told no and offered a different time that same day?? I explained I would contagious until x date and was just told “ok”. Three hours later I get a generic disqualification email. Not super bummed about the job but thought that was fucked up. They must not “believe” in Covid or something.
Don’t work at rocket mortgage
I’m telling you guys/gals because I still work here that you need to stay far away from this company from a consumer and even employee standpoint because these people will overwork the shit out of you and pretend it’s normal. they micromanage nonstop and again still act as if it’s normal and they’ll randomly fire people for no reason smh and they wanna abolish all remote work as well smh fuck rocket mortgage.
Calvin & Hobbes for July 28, 2022
So two weeks ago, I quit my job before my shift was due to start…Two days prior to that, the owners left me and another worker (a minor) to run their entire restaurant. Not the first time this has happened. The previous week, they left me in charge with two other cooks, no cashiers, no servers, nothing (sparked the two week notice). Add those two incidents to the day I quit before shift when I was asked to go to the store to buy supplies (I was off the clock) and then getting dragged into an argument between the manager and a server…yeah…I told the manager I quit and walked out. Same day get a text from the owner asking what happened…Told him, he then said he wanted to talk to me in person…I declined…Got a text telling me I needed to finish the two shifts (last weekend) because it…
