Hey guys, I've made something cool and wanted to share it with y'all We all can agree that linkedin is cringe af; linkedin feed to be exact. The story of how “CaptainSelfless” helped a homeless man who then turned out to be his boss in disguise and promoted him to VP is total bullshit, boring, and uninspiring. The most productive people who use linkedin only use it for search, jobs, and messages. They wish and pray for a way to block all the nonsense on their feed so they can work undistracted. Well, that's exactly what I've built- a chrome extension so powerful, yet so simple, that will 'un-cringe' your linkedin feed by blocking/hiding all posts on your homepage. It's name you ask? “Sick of Linkedin”. You can find it here:- https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/sick-of-linkedin-feed-blo/geocoiihhakjokjcjojbemfkpggcmfeh We don't collect any of your data or cookies or any of that nonsense. Do check it out.…

“City based remote job” meaning
My friend applied for a job at a certain religious university in AZ that was listed on Indeed as remote and in the description it said “City X based work from home job”. She’s in City Y. They emailed her saying she has to be in City X. Are we wrong to assume that the posting meant just working on City X’s time zone? Or are they trying to lure people in and hope they take the bait?
Hmmmm wonder why?
The TV of my boss
My boss is watching soccer on a 60″ TV and we're in Canada, and soccer isn't a sport here. Europeans excuse me, but soccer sucks, but why does the manager get to watch a “football match” and we have to work? He's a bald douche and thank you God for giving me thick hair. I want to watch TV at work. Unleash your fury and become the music of the night.
Boss thinks he is cool cause he owns a helicopter. Brags about how its got the same paint job as his car. Flys to the job site every few months for surprise inspection, like we don't see it coming. Against federal law to fly at our job site. Does it all the time anyway. Gets fined all the time. Still does it. Fine is more than he pays the average employee in a year. Staff short handed. High turnover because they never give raises when they promise it. Fires people on the spot like an asshole. Can't give raises or improve work conditions or supply proper PPE because profits are down. Gotta keep flying the chopper in though right? Of course you do!
I am exhausted. I work at a public healthcare service and we are taking part in the healthcare system handling the refugees in my country. With Russia invading Ukraine it has been a mess lately. Of course we are not enough employees and the workload gets bigger everyday. HR doesn't want to employ more people, we are too tired to do a pefect job and when mistakes happen, it can directly impact the medical path of a person. Most of the time it doesn't and we manage the situation without issues. But every single mistakes that happens, we will get a passive agressive email from manager, probably written in his big, pretty office while we work everyday in bad conditions, still trying to see every patient as a person instead of a file number. We work our asses off because we love the job and we want the people arriving…
Popular Gas Station Job Offer
So I’m trying to go back to work so my kids, partner and I can move out of a toxic living situation. All of the job offers I’m getting are either $14-15/hour or absurd hours, almost every single one requires weekends. I got offered a position at a very popular Arizona gas station chain and come to find out, these are their requirements: -No visible tattoos (I have a flower showing on my arm and “This Too Shall Pass” on my forearm) (even Costco changed this policy, I mean what year is it???) -No unnatural hair colors and no facial hair or long hair for men (?????) -No scheduled breaks (no chairs in the building and no back room to take a break, let alone pump for a pumping mom like myself) -Little to no down time -Starts at $14.14/hr and goes up once training is completed and goes up…
I think I need help?
I don’t know if this post is appropriate or not, but I’m out of options it feels like. I (almost 26m) have severe ADHD, and am on the Autism spectrum, and have a slew of other mental illnesses/disabilities that I deal with. In the past 5-6 years, I found purpose working in customer service facing jobs because I enjoy(ed) helping other people. Covid and its effects on the general public, have turned me into a nervous wreck half the time, and where I used to be quite Extroverted, Im becoming extremely introverted and anxious, and because of this, I havent been able to hold down a decent job that i can pay my rent with. I dont drive and it’s getting cold where im from, and we’re less a week away from thanksgiving, and my partner and I of 4 years just broke up on sunday, and i cant pay…
Even if you have a decent job and a boss that isn’t a bitch, a tool, or an asshole; how and when do you give yourself a second to appreciate when you know what every single person on planet earth is capable of when they are in a position of power? Just some random thoughts for the sub…
