Help what should I do.
I’m an assistant manager at Family dollar and I pulled a double yesterday and opened today. Now, today my main manager is sick again so I might have to pull another double and open tomorrow. We have a third manager but she isn’t picking up the phone or answering my texts at all about covering for night shift. Is there a way I can close the store early or take her off payroll for not answering for two days? I cant believe i might have to pull another double even though we have another manager who’s just not picking up the phone

Originally posted and removed on alt (I think) for being too new of an account: The right to collective bargaining/unionizing is unique from other rights. Most “rights” are derived from culturally and socially accepted basic individual needs. In America we boiled these down to “Life, Liberty, and property (pursuit of happiness)” thanks to political philosopher John Locke. Collective bargaining is unlike our other rights, because it comes from a completely different source. While connections could certainly be made back to Lockean tenets, we have the right to unionize and collectively bargain by virtue of basic math. There are too many of us, and too few of them. It really is that simple. The Supreme Court can make any ruling they like, it doesn't change the numbers. The right to collective bargaining was fought for and won by a LOT of brave people, not a few. It was not handed to…
They are hiring low paying warehouse jobs and always asks us why no one wants to work 🤣because we all get paid we all act stupid. “I wonder why, that’s crazy”. OR maybe because the pay is shit and people don’t want to freeze in a warehouse anymore, there are way better options for shit pay. This guy makes over 150k and can’t comprehend why it’s just funny to me.
Seems pretty universal
Voting Day should be anti-work day
Until Voting Day becomes a legal national holiday, all workers should use this day to strike/sick-out/call in sick/take a personal day. The vast stoppage of work would be a demonstration of our collective will to have a day free for voting when we like and how we like. We should encourage non-work on this day.
