Saw this in a cab in Singapore
I know the photo quality is shit, but I remember seeing this in a cab in Singapore in 2019 & it honestly warmed my heart that the initiative to advocate for the workers rights was from the company itself. This should be everywhere. For those of you who can't see the writing it says: PLEASE KEEP OUR TAXI DRIVERS ABUSE-FREE They have the right to work in a safe environment like everyone else. Any person guilty of harassing, causing alarm, or distress, fear or provocation of violence, using indecent, threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviours towards a public service worker shall be liable to a fine of upto $5000 and/or imprisonment not exceeding 12 months.
Currently stuck in a situation where I have to spend time on a laptop. I can't play any downloaded games so it would need to be in a browser. What keeps you busy on company time?
the largest union of the modern era, in 1921, 101 years ago, had 1,901,161 members. r/antiwork has 2.3 MILLION people. You can sit hear a bunch, wait, and complain, and nothing will happen. Unions have happened, and shit has gotten done. If you want to get together, and put in some genuine, honest work, or rather a lack thereof, you can get stuff done. I'm not a member of this movement, but I think yall could do some things.
Gotta get this off my chest
Boss said something to a coworker yesterday that's been pissin me off the more i stew on it. The coworker he was talking to has two kids and a wife. Dude almost never calls off or takes vacation, but when he does it's usually cause of one of the kids being sick or having appointments or something. The girl that works with me has a kid and medical issues, still almost never calls off, but needs to sometimes like people do. Shit pops up. My mom had four strokes in a year last year, three in three months. I've been having to divert course halfway to work about once, sometimes twice a month to go get her diapers before everything closes. (I work third shift and she never realizes she's out till I'm on my way to work for some reason.) Or to go clean up the bathroom after an…
yea that’s about right
Conspiracy to prevent my pay hike.
TLDR; I am (or rather was) on my way to get a significant pay hike based on the structure of my company and how it rewards performances but I'm being deliberately given bad ratings so that I don't qualify for the pay hike. I work in a very niche company and made a radical career switch. I don't know what I'll do if things don't work out here. I'm going to speak to my Team Leader soon probably today or in a couple of days. Looking for advise. Intro: I'll try to keep it short although it's tough to put my situation across without explaining the detailed workings of my job or by keeping it vague for privacy but I'll give it a go. Premise: So the nature of my job is such that we're evaluated every 4 months and based on our performance and stats at the end of…
I’m at my wits end
I live in Ontario, Canada. Wtf is going on? This place is a wasteland. With this recent news of teachers wanting to strike and the provincial government trying to force them to do otherwise…my question is when do we all just strike? To me that’s a huge violation. I’m not a teacher but I’m tired of showing up to my job where we too are constantly understaffed, underpaid, undertrained, unappreciated and overworked. On top of this, everything is on the rise. Groceries, housing, transportation. Fuck outta here it’s inflation, it’s greed. I can either afford very little at the expense of my mental health or I can afford nothing if I chose to prioritize my well being. My existence is not a business opportunity. My existence is not illegal. Why tf didn’t we get a day off for the Queen’s death? Idgaf about her but you’re telling me I’ve had…
