In this prison without bars. Wasting my best years sitting in front of the computer. Losing hours of sunshine, of life with the people I love, just to do an abusive journey. In my country every year they change the rules and retirement seems more and more distant. Unless you're military or politician. Always afraid to lose jobs and be so poor. I always remember the speech from the charles chaplin movie the dictator. I would love to have born truly free. I’m so tired and hopeless.

Question from a long time lurker
Outside of the obvious, pay us more, better benefits, and don't be a dick demands we expect out of employers. Is there anything within workplace culture that you guys would like to see from companies? I've worked about 15 jobs in my 20s including companies like Panasonic, Bank of America, and the Army Reserves. I know what I'd like to see in a company but I want your guy's opinion. I just started up my own company and while I don't see myself hiring someone right now I want to make sure that if I do grow large enough to be able to hire people, that they are treated well. Paid well, work life balance for family's without worrying about pay, and good benefits should already be accounted for rather than trying to scrape by milking everything for profit. I haven’t been working as frequently (only three times this entire month) and I texted her if I could work more hours. She replied five days later saying “I’d be happy to talk to me about it in person” and I should come in to talk to her. We finalized a date and then she said “perfect it’ll be a quick talk.” She doesn’t like me that’s for sure and now I’m afraid she’s going to fire me. According to her I’m not the best employee although she’s not right about that and I think she’ll fire me on that basis. What do I do? I really want to stay at this job until spring semester next year.
What’s the antiwork position on tipping?

I'm from California so every worker (that works at a legit place of business) gets paid minimum wage of $15 an hour. So I feel tipping has become a little unnecessary here since you are basically making the same per hour as a lot of other people and if you feel like you deserve more money you should be asking your employer for a raise instead of expecting people who may be getting paid less than you to give you their hard earned money. Then theres the constant judging of people who go out to restaurants and don't have money to tip that they should just stay home if they can't afford to tip. You don't…
