My last day at my work will be Friday, Nov 11. The last two years, everyone who worked on that day was getting a 'float day'. So a day you can use any time during the year, paid. I talked to my manager today and they said they won't pay me a float day as I'm leaving. I work in a medical clinic in Ontario, are they allowed to do this? I would really like an extra day paid but if they don't have, it sucks, but I would understand. I'm adding that November 11 is the only float day we have all year.
my boss sent me home today after cursing at me…I work in a restaurant . I live in Florida. There was a hurricane as a result my restaurant was hugely busy for some reason. We were also short staffed. And lots of tasks from the night before we're incomplete. Not to mention one of the coolers was down. So I had to ice everything down. Last time I drove an hour through a hurricane I was going to get laid. Today I just got a paycheck. Been unhappy for a while with this drive in good weather. It gets shitty out and it downright sucks. No clue why they won't allow remote work once a week or more.
my replacement quit today
I quit a job a year ago after my bosses yelled at me for an hour and said awful things to me. I got a much better job so it worked out. They hired a guy to take my position and went a s far as to tell my old clients how much better he was than me. They sang his praises despite him fucking up and clients calling me to complain. Just got a phone call from a former coworker. He quit today. Just walked out after telling the bosses how awful they were and what a joke the agency was.
Right to Work Doesn’t Mean No Unions
So many people believe its illegal to unionize in 'right to work' states. As a public service announcement, I would like to remind everyone that the right to unionize cannot be infringed. https://www.nlrb.gov/about-nlrb/rights-we-protect/the-law/employees/your-rights-during-union-organizing#:~:text=You%20can't%20be%20fired,for%20engaging%20in%20these%20activities.
