That’s not retirement then!
Let’s say companies started paying us more to match the cost of living and some. Then in our mind we would think to deliver and actually work harder as they expect of us because we would be paid our worth. Here’s my next thing I thought about— I feel like we are all so burnt out already that no matter how much a company pays me, I’m still lethargic and generally numb to work in general at this point that my level of dedication just still wouldn’t be there. Like I feel like a lot of us are at a point of no return and it really isn’t about just the money so much in the bigger picture. I can’t speak for everyone, but it feels like there’s multiple sides to this whole coin. Like yes, I want more money, but then again my level of hard work may not…

(what else is new?)My job mainly hires younger people fresh out of high school, which I dont have a problem with, but a lot of them are lazy and want to stand around and talk all day which I do have a problem with. They fight over who does what cause they dont want to do it and it always ends up being me…
“I have some questions, why is (s/o) suddenly and without warning no longer on the schedule? Why have they not been given verbal or written warnings before termination, like we were all guaranteed when we started working here? Why is it that everyone who has been fired similarly has been a minority? Why are they being treated with a different standard than someone like (Cis White Male who's the son of a chef) who has had multiple verbal and written warnings, has been put on 'probation', but still has his job? Where is our job security? Why should we be worried about being fired like this with no indication of what we're doing wrong when we're being paid less than market wages? At what point should I start worrying about randomly losing my job? I have asked several times if there's anything I need to change or do differently but…
