What A Fun Game We Played
There has been so much said about the lack of workforce participation and quiet quitting. But what doesn't get discussed is how for years we had employers pretending that they didn't know what the correct living wage was. And employees choosing to suck it up and keep working for whatever they could get. But everyone had a feeling that deep down, employers had zero concern for employees. Then COVID came along and proved it. This is why the job market is so screwed up. It came from years of some people ignoring the obvious and others choosing not to care. I don't believe this will be solved without any honest recognition on the part of the employers in regard to the mess they made. Because the younger people coming into the system clearly get it.
Just got diagnosed with covid 19
Idk what to do since i have to be gone for 21 days to qualify for short term disability insurance i cant afford this i cant come in for a minimum of 5 days
Like don't. Don't ever pull that shit with me. Don't tell me I've got the job, and that I did so well, you know exactly where to put in me in your organisation with my skillset. Because now, I've turned down other job offers, and I have made preparations around this job. Don't tell me you wish I'm successful in future, don't tell me it was a hard choice, tell me why you specifically told me I got the job, exactly where I'll be in the organisation, that you're giving the reccomendation to an existing team, and then not give me the fucking job. Shit is absolutely crushing.
Wondering if this has ever gone well for someone or even been worth it in the slightest. It's been a really abusive and draining workplace and I've had enough. Put in my notice and my job is now hounding me for all of this incredible stuff they'll do if I stick around. Personally my principles say no thanks, if you wanted me around you should have treated me right in the first place. I don't think even their highest offer could get me to stay because of the bad blood. Curious to hear other people's perspectives though.
Leaving a little early?
When you ask your boss; “Hey do you mind if I leave a little early?” Do you take that to mean you are leaving early without pay and will note this when entering time? Or, you’re leaving early with approval and it’s implied consent that they just gonna go ahead and give it to you?
