I work with a group comprised of Millennials and Gen Z. Our job does not require us to come in the office at all. However, we do have the option to work hybrid. I’m not opposed to coming in the office once or even twice a week. However, the one Boomer of our team wants to go into the office so bad; he suggested we go every day except Monday and Friday…that’s not happening. Traffic where I live is atrocious and with gas being so expensive they’d be lucky if I go to the office twice a week. My manager, who’s a younger Millennial, doesn’t even care as much as this guy. Is it because they’ve spent 40 years of their lives behind some ugly cubicle? Is it so they can kiss-ass with management? Is it because they live sad lives without any human interaction outside of the office? Sorry…
New rules at work
I found him trough a Ted talk and I must say he changed a lot on my perspective, on the system, and what makes me happy.
Boring job
I’m not sure if this post belongs here but I didn’t know where else to post. I started a job in healthcare 2 months ago and it has become the most boring job I’ve ever had. My boss and director still come around periodically to see what I’m doing but I never have anything to do! Trying to look busy is exhausting. Any advice for how to handle an unfulfilling, boring job ?
Any advice on how to do something smart to push back on management with? This is ridiculous. Edit: So I work for telecommunications and I risk life and limb every day for a measly hourly wage.
