My job is poverty
I need to be subsidized.
Hello All, I currently have a job, for over 5 years, but i would like to expand my skill set in another sector, where training with approved professional bodies is provided. I have an interview lined up for Friday for a company who offers exactly what i want. They match my current salary, say they will sponsor the training and would like to meet me based on those agreements as base line. Just to repeat, i am in a stable job and looking for the best deal. Only problem is that the former employee reviews for exactly that department are devastating. Common reviews are: – too heavy workload for that pay range – unpaid overtime required each day – no or unexperienced management, so no support available Even with those reviews, literally all reviews praise the company as a whole as good employer, but just slack off exactly the department…
Payed full time to do so little
Here it is. It’s been almost 2 years that I have this office job where I mostly work from home (I need to go to the office 1 time a week for the sake of being there). It’s a job that was offered to me in the pandemic after « retiring » from my first career in what I studied for (music) because basically i was tired of being poor. Soon after getting hired I noticed that the tasks wouldn’t fill the 40h I’m paid for. I’m the only one in this team but my boss that has poor management skills and wears a lot of hats. Basically I’m unsupervised and very often I have in between times where I have so little job that I can procrastinate and do it all when I’m at the office. Cool no?! Yeah. But I’m getting tired. I still need to wake up everyday, be…
Worse boss award
So I have this boss who is the biggest micromanager. She yells at you if you step away from your desk for more than 2min. She told me during the week I cannot schedule anything even after my scheduled shift of 5pm because we work late some nights. Which we do (some) other times we sit in a TEAMS call and bullshit while she tries finishing her emails. That the weekend is when I should schedule my appointments, haircuts, and activities and none of that during the week. She’s a pathological liar who states “so and so said this” and turns out none of which was said. Me and my buddy record her anytime we’re talking with her as well. I’m supposed to be off at 5pm I said I had to go by 6pm because I had something. She sent out an email to our team stating this. “We…
7 years and finally moving on, I don’t know what yet! I’m just glad to be leaving.
My company had a complete work from home policy throughout the pandemic. Then in July of this year they released a new HR policy where employees would be needed to work from office only 4 days a month and this was not enforced. Project Managers were left to their own devices and they could chose whether they wanted to call the employees or not. My manager did not ask employees to work those 4 days from office and our project continued to work remote. But now starting November they are requiring all employees to work from office 3 days a week. And the power has been taken away from the Project Managers to decide whether they want to bring their employees to the office or not. I had been planning to quit for a long time. This just gave me a concrete reason.
