All of the salaried workers were given a week of furlough due to the company not achieving the financial targets. We were required to take a certification prior to our week off saying we'd turn off all company devices and do zero work. We had to certify again after the week off that we did zero work. I found out my boss ignored this and worked during their unpaid furlough week. What a freaking joke. Way to ignore your family, ignore HR, and lick the company butthole. This drives me crazy working with such people. I need a new job. I needed a space to write this out, thanks for reading.
What does this corporate bs even mean??
Pretty much all in the title had a meeting yesterday with my team and the director of operations told us that over the weekend this software will be installed on our remote computers if we go idle for 10 min it will lock and then won't unlock until we put in a reason why. They pretty much wanna spin it that this is not BIG BROTHER and that this will be used to make business decisions and I guess justify that we need more people even though you can clearly see by everyone's workload that we need more people you don't need software to tell you that. I was already going to quit by the end of the year since I want to go back to school but this just makes the remaining couple of months much more depressing for me. I have so much anxiety at this job already…
NLRB charge filed… what’s next?
I was fired today for “not being a good fit”. One week ago my manager called me to tell me to stop discussing compensation with coworkers. I informed him that I would do no such thing. Since then my hours were reduced and I was terminated today. Aside from filing a charge with the NLRB, what do I need to do next? Edit: I forgot to mention that I have already submitted the charge. Edit 2: Does anyone have any similar experience? What can I expect the NLRB to do? How long do these things take? What really irritates me is that I was hired August 1 and my insurance was supposed to start November 1. Now I have to find a job and reset my loyalty clock to get access to healthcare.
Does work make you hate yourself?
I try so damn hard to do my best and I feel like they shit on me just for trying and now I feel like trash every time I do something that I know was actually good. On top of that I’m a millennial and everywhere I look it says millennials are over emotional and I’m not gonna lie it makes me a little emotional. Just venting, just annoyed. But worse part is how it’s making me feel about myself.
The owner handed out coffee cups.
New owner of the company “gifted” the office employees with these coffee mugs. The new owner reduced bonuses last year and showed up with a new boat and pickup truck. I took my cue and found new employment. Old coworker texted this to me. He has started looking for a new company as well.
